“Tricky to find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

Nice hotel with a very central location i Bucharest district 1. It is however impossible to drive to the hotel, so expect to spend some time looking for it if you are coming by car. Some of the staff has a rather low understanding of English, so repeat all arrangements a couple of times to be sure that it is understood.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for several days from the 28th October. It is probably in the best location in Bucharest being within metres of dozens ( if not hundreds ) of restaurants, bistros and pubs, in the Old City part of town. There are several " must see" attractions virtually on the doorstep, with others very close by. The hotel is recently renovated and quite comfortable, with fairly spacious rooms, a quality restaurant on site, and staff who are a joy to interact with. All speak good to excellent English. Rooms with outside windows are adviseable, and parking can be problematic if you have a car. Information on attractions is always available.

Unfortunately, during our stay my wife of 51 years suffered a massive stroke from which she did not recover. She died several days later. During this most stressful time the Manager, Cristina, was absolutely wonderful in her support and helpfulness. A young woman of high intelligence and great efficiency she did eveything possible to assist me, coming to the hospital with me constantly, arranging transport, acting as interpretor with hospital officialdom, and generally doing everything possible, above and beyond any concept of responsibility.Whenever she was not available she organised others to take over this role.

Cristina is a person of great compassion and understanding. I cannot speak highly enough of her as a human being, and of her capabilities.

Thank you Cristina, and to all your staff. They are a credit to you and the hotel.

The hotel is perfectly located in the center of the old bucharest. Not far away, restaurant, bar, old monument
The staff is very nice. The room are large and quiet (I'have got one whitch the street view)
Too bad there is no parking in the hotel.

Me,my wife and our 6 month baby stayed 4 days at this hotel. After the reservation we called the hotel and asked for a room without carpets because of our little baby. When we checked in the room we are really surprized ,the room was carpet free and there was a really nice bed for our baby near the window.Everything in the room is working well.Bathroom is usefull and prepared good.Front office and the receptionists are always helpfull and smiley.Breakfast is standart and can be improved.Hotel rooms are really soundproof but its on a really crowded place so you can hear noises from outside at the rooms facing main street.I recommed this hotel for other travellers and we want to stay at this hotel at our next trip to Bucharest.

I spent my last weekend in Bucharest and stayed at Europa royale for first time. The location is excellent in the center of the city and just at the border of the old city center. The hotel is clean and the rooms comfortable. My room was on the 4th floor and had the one and only small balcony. Great view at day and night ! Some find it noisy but I found the isolation of the room just fine. It is obviously a crowded and noisy area with lots of cafe' restaurants and malls. But I had good sleep and rest. The breakfast is nothing great and could be improved (an espresso is available with charge) but these are just small details. Location, cleanliness and wifi free are more important than a good croissant that can be easily found in any cafe nearby

The Central Royale is 5 minutes walk and almost in sight of the bus terminus from Henri Coanda airport and on the edge of the historic centre, so very well placed for restaurants, the Metro and other public transport. The building is modern internally within an older traditional facade, with an attractive atrium at Reception. The staff are friendly and helpful, speak good English (and probably other languages). Check in and out were easy.
Our rooms (two separate single nights) were comfortable, clean and well appointed; good breakfast with plenty of choice.
In fact, unless you need to spend a great deal more for an international luxury base, this would be hard to beat.
