“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2011

The old adage 'never judge a book by its cover' certainly applies to this hotel. From the outside it looks drab located in a side street in which the road ie presenlt being dug up. Once inside it is amazing. Lovely facade and colour scheme, excellent rooms, very clean with staff who speak English (a pity as I wanted to practice my Romanian). Arriving by train it is conveniently located between the train station and the city. And finally the totally unexpected - upon arrival receiving a complimentary snack with a glass of Rumanian wine.

The road did cause some problems in the last month because the guys from the Town Hall decided it is time to change the surface of the street and you can imagine all the problems that resulted from this, but now they just finished working on the street, it is 100% ready and it looks just great, almost it was all worth it! Glad to know you enjoyed the Christina experience and for sure we are waiting for you again to see the new surroundings! Multumesc mult pentru review, este foarte important pentru noi!

It's really hard to add anything that's not already been said, so I admit it - I'm writing just so that I'll get a reply. Most Tripadvisor hotels reply, if at all, only to try to placate complainers; Christina, understandably, doesn't seem to get any of those, so they reply to everyone! Amazing, but completely reflective of the truly excellent service throughout, from the owner through all the frontline staff - Dana, Bea, Andreea, etc.
Hotel itself is as delightfully, but constructively, gimmicky (sorry, conceptual) as the brochure suggests - the eco-driven design, colour co-ordination, efficient a/c, coffee machine, electrically tilting beds, and, best of all, the illuminated shower heads. I've no idea of the purpose - most of us don't need red-lit water to know we're scalding ourselves - but I did enjoy them. Likewise everything else - thanks to all concerned.

Dear Chris, you said that you cannot bring anything new in your review that others did not say, I don’t know if this is true (and even so, all are different and it is a pleasure to answer them) but for sure I have never seen such good pictures with the shower heads, or any pictures at all if I think about it! And speaking of the illuminated shower heads, I think you are right, but you must admit they are cool and they don’t work with batteries or any other source of electricity so they are friendly with the environment. It was a pleasure to read your review, not to mention having you as our guest, thank you very much!

From the moment we stepped through the front door we were greeted in a friendly yet prfessional way. Bea and Andrea were amazing and could not do enough to help us. The (Lilac) Room is minimalistic, yet understatedly tasteful. Very simple, but everything works well together. We even mastered the nespresso machine after only one tepid cup of coffee.

There was absolutely nothing about the hotel we could mark-down unless we were being very picky. george the waiter had exactly the right balance between attentiveness and discretion. Even Adrian the receptionist (only met him once) was affable and efficient.

On the wole, the entire team worked well together to provide an exceptional experience which we can honestly say has not been bettered anywhere at any price.

If you want an easy, value for money hotel, with amazing staff, lovely food and a superb ambience - you will do very well to eter this place.

Oh, the only downside - I wish they hadn't been resurfacing the road outside. Having 30 hairy-a*sed navvies outside kicking up dust and laying blacktop kind of spoilt the photographs. How petty was that!!!

Go tere. It's lovely.

Room Tip: Ask for additional coffee pods - you only get one each. Run one cup of water through the Nesresso f...

It is very nice and considerate of you to remember so many people from the hotel staff; I don’t think I need to tell you that everybody here reads the reviews and one like yours is a great source of delight!
Regarding the resurfacing of the road, I would like to take the occasion to thank you and everybody else who had to put up with this for being so tolerant and understanding! FINALLY, after one month of eating dust, the whole project is over and finished, the 30 guys who you described so well packed their building equipment and left; although I have to admit that they and Mr. mayor did a pretty good job!
Thank you very much for your feedback!
PS: thank you for the room tip, it’s very useful

I am still in the middle of my stay, and I have to say that this is by far the best hotel I have stayed in during my visits to Bucharest; Just in the lobby now having a beer and using the free wifi (a rarity in hotels and really welcome)
I just wish I had found the hotel sooner.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the food is fabulous (especially the omelette at breakfast) and plentiful and the room very comfortable, trendy also.
Just love the remote control bed!
I will definitely be back here on my next business trip.

Room Tip: Go for a room at the rear and high up for peace and views over some really old buildings

Thank you for your feedback! If you’re still in the hotel on Friday 23rd September I would like to invite you and all of our guests in the hotel to a complementary monthly party at 7:30 PM, downstairs, in the breakfast area! Besides a good time, we will have a Romanian traditional dish: cat-fish with polenta and garlic, white wine, beer and of course Palinka! It will be a great pleasure for us if you could come!

An outstanding welcome with snack and excellent Romanian wine awaiting our arrival. Lovely modern design rooms ultra clean. We stayed two nights outward and inward on our train travel to Istanbul. Both rooms were so quiet you could sleep with the windows open if you didn't need the excellent air conditioning. Reasonable restaurant far better than you would expect for this size of hotel. Ideal for business travellers and good for tourists if you don't mind a ten minute walk. Taxis are cheap providing you ensure they are metered (not a problem if ordered through the hotel).

Room Tip: We slept in a room overlooking the back on both occasions. This is probably worth requesting.

Thank you very much for your feedback, we highly appreciate it! We think that a good meal can make a difference between having a good time or having a great time in Bucharest so we always ensure that the food we serve in the restaurant (weather is the breakfast, lunch or dinner) is fresh and delicious with a balanced and fair price! I hope you have wonderful memories of Bucharest and come to visit again!
