“Great accommodations in the middle of Bucharest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

I stayed in the apartment in Nistor St #6. This location is the best. One block from the old town, right in Piata Universitii, subway station around the corner, surrounded by all types of restaurants and a 10 minute walk to a large supermarket and a shopping mall in Piata Unirii. The apartment is large for European standards. It has a lobby, a full kitchen with full-sized refrigerator and breakfast table, a smallish bathroom with a combination tub-shower and a very useful washing machine, a bedroom with a comfortable double bed, and a living room fully equipped with couches, desk, and even a studio couch if you need to sleep more than 2 people. Wi-Fi is good and fast and there is also a wired connection at the desk. The apartment even has two balconies. In spite of the central location it is very quiet. It has an elevator. The apartment is very clean and well maintained. The owner, Laurentiu, is extremely nice, friendly and helpful. He can arrange airport transportation and tours on demand. You can also call him anytime if you have any issues or questions. I stayed here twice already and strongly recommend Lifestyles Accommodation.

I stayed in the purple coloured room (see big photo)

Good things: It's in the middle of the best attractions and fortunately the owner speaks good English and gives you some introductory information about Bucharest

Bad things:
Cooking: You can't really cook in the small studio flat as it lacks many small things like washing liquid/sponge, cutlery (such as knives) etc. There is only a small microwave and a small fridge.
Room and sleep quality: it lacks proper curtains (or proper blinds) so it lacks privacy. You must change in the darkness or in the bathroom during the night. You have to bring your eye blinder like I normally do in the trips (along with ear plugs) otherwise you will wake up with the sun in the horizon. In terms of noise, the windows seem double glazed and block the outside noise. However, I felt like being surrounded by tones of water pipes connecting the whole building as I could hear toilet flush, shower, water running etc every night, all the time. For people with light sleep, like me, this will be a problem, no matter how tired and sleepy you are. So if you stay in this flat, don't forget your ear plug either...
Bathroom: the shower is terrible. Water with no pressure and poor water flow. I am a tiny woman and I travelled during summer so I could bear it.
Location: There is no reception or sign outside the building for this accommodation, which is comprised of many flats scattered across the area. So beware to have the owners contact number before arriving otherwise you will see yourself stuck outside, in the streets where there are little or no lights during the night and people have difficulty or no interest speaking English. The flat where I stayed is hidden among the high trees and buildings, so I had to use Google street view in my home country to find the place and check how the front facade looks like beforehand.
