“Always a pleasure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2014

Position is strategic, although far from the city centre. The standard room is spacious, very clean and comfortable.
The restaurant serves excellent food, but a bit pricey. Fast food restaurant serves average food, overpriced for the quality.
The hotel became more and more expensive with time, and the first signs of age are already showing up, in particular in the bathrooms.
The garage (at an extra cost) is convenient.
When booking, STAY AWAY from the rooms immediately below the top floor pool! Otherwise you will stay awake all night long.

The location is simply perfect if you traveling for business and you want to await the city center. Parking is not included in the fare, but the cover parking is huge and easy to reach from the reception. All the guests have free access to Wireless Internet connection in the guest room and free entrance to the Aspa Wellness centre with swimming pool, panoramic sauna, trim cabinet, jacuzzi, solarium....

Far away from the city. A little strange combination of hotel, gas station, shopping center and a cluster of other businesses.
Still, rooms are fine, quite and provide good level of comfort.
Restaurant served very good dinner (remember you are far from the city, even if on two-lane road leading to it) and breakfast.
A little too expensive for this class.

The best part of opting for the Hotel Antunovic is its 15 minutes distance from the Slovenian-Croatian border. Suits me fine, because I mostly visit Zagreb on business. The prices are pretty reasonable and facilities are good enough. I had halted here on two instances and found the Hotel perfect for my Business trips. Clean, spacious rooms with absolutely free Wi-Fi. Both the restaurants, one at the ground floor and the other on the Top floor were equally maintained and served good food. I usually had Breakfast before leaving for work. And the Breakfast buffet was filling and offered a wide range of variations. There’s an attached shopping center just behind the Hotel premises, which helps in killing time, especially during the late evenings. For private vacations though, one might find the Hotel a little off-route from the city heart. That could be inconvenient.

I spent several days there due to my work. I used all facilities including conference center and SPA.
To put it in a nutshell: best service everywhere in the hotel.
I especially enjoyed friendly staff who seem to accommodate your style of communication immediately. I’m direct so they were direct and friendly. They cracked jokes and made funny remarks (never offensive though). Some of my colleagues were more official so the staff acted with more distance and respect. It seemed natural and easy for them all the time. Never had a weird feeling of artificial kindness.

Food veeeerrry good. Try fish dishes and local wine. Some helping staff do not speak English very well but will always refer you to someone who can advise you on their cuisine.

Rooms were nice and clean. Most have nice view on the town. I had the biggest suite so I am not a good judge here.

Use the saunas and swimming pool or a jacuzzi. Everything is clean and ready for you coupled with a nice (but not breathtaking) view over the town and nearby mountains both from the pool and saunas.

There is also a top floor bar with revolving floor so you can drink, eat and “be on the move” constantly.

During my long stay I had no problem whatsoever.

Bear in mind, this hotel is 20-40 minutes taxi drive from the “upper town” as they call old town in Zagreb. I don’t quite remember but the ride costs ca. 50 HRK. Don’t get swindled.

The Hotel Antunovic is located on the outskirts of Zagreb, at least 20 minutes from the centre of Zagreb and away from tram links. I found it to be perfectly adequate, if a little sterile. Rooms were comfortable and well furnished with good (free) wi-fi. Breakfasts can be busy and selection is a fairly standard buffet. The Vertigo bar was empty and felt a bit seedy on a Monday evening: couldn't quite see the attraction. Overall my stay was fine, but nothing special. Recommended for business travellers only,

Business trip to Zagreb. Easy to get: 15 minutes from Slovenian-Croatian border. Large and clean rooms, modern and functional. I really appreciated the welcome chocolate. Excellent ratio price/quality. Last floor's bar is rotating (amazing!). SPA and all facilities complete the perfect stay.
