“Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2014

It was a great hotel in a central location - just a few blocks from everything. The room was clean and spacious. The staff were especially helpful and friendly, making Zagreb a great start to our Croatian vacation. They emailed us a week before our reservation with details for parking, making our arrival in the city stress free. There was a lot of variety for the breakfast buffet and it was all very yummy. Be sure and try coffee!

The position of the hotel could not be more central, and even though, very quiet. Hotel staff were very polite and kind, with the reception staff being particularly impressive. Although not used, the hotel coffee room / bar / lounge area looked really nice and cozy.
And so everything seems great, then there was the room.... Although nothing of great significance to criticize, even though i had booked a double room (just for myself) to take advantage of the advertised 'offering a seating area with a work desk', well... it was just a bit of a let down.
Walking around the bed, watch your head don't hit the wall mounted TV; The 'work desk' included for typical reasons is shoved into the corner of the room and was just about the same width as my laptop (just), so pretty much useless for work. And finally, the rooms look out to a seated courtyard, which could be nice i hear you say, but they are on the same level as that and therefore offer no real chance of opening curtains / windows...
Breakfast i felt was 'kinda standard' nothing too special, nothing too bad, however i was let down when i tried to order fresh orange juice and told i could only order that from the hotel bar! I am not a fan of 'chemical tasting' orange concentrate!
All in all, it is a nice hotel, and as said, the staff lovey, but the price and rating on this site are not completely justified.

Dear guest,

We would like to thank you for staying with us and writing your review! Thank you for the compliments to our staff and location, we are glad you were so pleased with those. And we very much appreciate your feedback regarding the issues you mentioned. We will take into consideration a bigger desk size in the room where you were staying as our goal is to constantly improve our service. We apologize for the lack of fresh orange juice at the breakfast and we will consider providing it in the future.

We only regret you didn't mention these complaints to our Front Office staff, we would offer moving you to another room with bigger desk and different room position.

Thank you once again for your review! Our staff sends a special greeting and we would be happy if we could welcome you again to improve your overall experience!

Over the years, my family has stayed at many hotels in Croatia, and Zagreb itself, while visiting relatives. We stayed at the Hotel Jagerhorn recently for the very first time. Without a doubt, this place has secured a spot as our new favorite.

Most other reviewers have discussed the location as being ideal. It certainly is. The quality of the reception staff and the calm ambiance of the courtyard that you access the hotel through is what really sets it apart. Staff are helpful, funny, and flexible. The cafe bar on the ground level is a great bonus. The hotel feels like it's in a separate world of its own, while being extremely well connected to steps to Gornji Grad, and just a short walk from Trg Ban Jelacic and the tram lines. It is very intimate, and you'll feel as if you have the place to yourself.

We stayed in one of the suites, which was large and very comfortable. It was both modern and home-like. Beds, linens, pillows--all were wonderful. Where most rooms in Zagreb are small, drab, and lacking in ventilation, the Jagerhorn is bright, open, roomy. Only hiccup was that our room was not quite ready upon our arrival.

Breakfast was excellent, though this is consistent across much of Croatia. Jagerhorn is no different and it was very, very pleasant.

Highly recommend this place.

Dear guest,

We are really delighted with your warm review and happy that you chose to stay with us during your family visit!

As you so nicely described, we really enjoy offering private oasis in the middle of the city center and it is so great to read that our guests enjoy it so much as well. Special thanks for compliments to our staff, as we are always so encouraged to read such a positive feedback to our work.

We only regret you couldn't check in your room in the time you planned, we apologize for the possible inconvenience. Our rooms are ready for check in from 15 h, except in situations when the previous guests leave early, then it is possible to check in earlier.

We are sending warmest greetings as we look forward to welcome you the next times when you visit Zagreb!

If you want to be right in the heart of Zagreb, this is the best place to stay. You are literally seconds away from great cafes and shopping, and minutes away from the main bar street and restaurants. The bus/tram station is 1 minute away too. Though the entrance of the hotel is located on a main street, you hear no noise from your hotel room, as the property is tucked toward the back.

I was travelling with 2 friends and we shared a suite. My friend and I slept in the king bed while another friend slept in a twin bed out in the living area, which was essentially his own room as there was a door to our room and two doors to the bathroom.

The staff are above and beyond helpful and friendly around the clock. When we wanted to inquire about a day trip to Plitvice Lakes, to where to grab the best late night meal, they were there.

For everything this hotel has to offer, it is more than reasonably priced, and I am one to always look for places to stay that are the best bang for my buck.

I know most people who visit Croatia are told to go south to Spilt and Dubrovnik, which is what we did too, but do not miss out on the wonderful, yet humble city of Zagreb!

Room Tip: We were located on the top floor in the corner suite. Though wifi wasn't really good in the room...

This hotel is right in the center of the town. It offers private parking very near the hotel for those who have a car. We arrived late and was greeted by a lovely young girl who was friendly and informative. The room was biggish with a lovely bathroom. Very clean and warm. Breakfast was in a bright room with a buffet continental style with fruits, cerial and yogurts. Overall was lovely would visit again for sure. Good value for money. Located by all the central bar/cafes and can easily walk to all the attractions. Also can easily jump on a tram as they pass by the hotel.

Dear guest,

Thank you for writing your review! In a short and simple way you summed up all of the significant elements. You intrigued is with which young lady you are referring to as there are 3 of us :) But, surely, there would be no difference with any other ;)

We appreciate your nice words and hope to have another opportunity to welcome you soon!

We had initially booked a stay here in 2012 but due to unforeseen circumstances had to cancel. Finally, we were able to take our trip last year and stay at the Jagerhorn – we are so glad we did.

From our first enquiry regarding accommodation availability we knew we were in for a great stay at the Jagerhorn. Every question we asked was answered promptly and in a friendly manner so that by the time we actually stayed there we felt like we were meeting friends. During our stay nothing was a trouble – everyone was friendly, helpful and just lovely.

We arrived before check-in time so, with a few hours to spare, we were able to deposit our bags then head up the steps behind the hotel, which provided a convenient connection to the upper town.

Our room overlooked the outdoor courtyard and was a reasonable size, with comfortable beds, and a great shower.

Breakfast was plentiful and there was a good selection to choose from.

Overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Jagerhorn and would recommend it to anyone visiting Zagreb.
