“great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2014

Booked 3 nights. Got there at 11 a.m., they let us check in the room early and upgraded us without us even asking! Then on day of departure they allowed us to keep our bags in a room after checking out as our flight wasnt until the evening. Good choice at breakfast as well and the hotel is a 5 minute walk from the central part of Zagreb, 10 minutes from the main bus station and 2 minutes from the main rail station!

Although the room was a little small, it was spotless and had everything that I needed. The staff are exceedingly friendly and efficient. Breakfast buffet was very good and had a really good selection of prepared fresh fruit. Good central location, not far to walk to most places of interest. Will stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask to be moved if you don't like the room.

The location of this hotel was great and very central. I was able to just park the car and walk everywhere. The room was very small and had a connecting door to the room next door which was horrible because I could hear every word and everything that was going on in the room next door. That made it hard to feel comfortable.

The breakfast they offered was good and had a very nice variety. Most of the staff was knowledgeable, but not very warm and friendly. The hotel was very clean and I would easily stay there again, but request a quieter non-connecting room.

Room Tip: make sure you don't have a connecting room unless you want to hear everything going on in your n...

Visited on April 03, 2914. Rooms are clean and good size. Good location. Staff helpful and friendly. Price is reasonable. Breakfast was included in our rate. The breakfast was good with a lot of options.

I would stay there again.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2014

On our trip through the Balkan Peninsula, we were looking for a place to stay in Zagreb before taking the train to Ljubljana. We were looking for a place close to the Zagreb train station and the bus station. We also wanted a place that was quiet, safe, and comfortable. This hotel was perfect for what we were looking for.

The Best Western Hotel franchise in Europe generally offers property and services at a level above what you find and expect in the U.S. and this hotel was no exception. The rooms were classic with paneled wood furniture, carpet flooring and tiled bath with glass doors. The service was excellent and little details like fresh fruit, baked cookies, and salt water taffy available at reception were appreciated.

The location is superb. The central city square and cathedral are about 4 or 5 blocks north. The Art Museum and the park are one block west and the train station is about a 10 minute walk south. Coming in from the airport, there is a shuttle bus that takes you to the bus station and from there, it is a 10 minute tram ride west to the park near the hotel. The location makes transportation very easy.
