“the middle age and devotion”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

the stone gate is the only surviving medieval gate to the old town. But beneath its arch there is the image of a much venerated Virgin with lots of candles and people kneeled for prayers: it'sd an unusual contrast. On the outer wall of tha gate, the sculpture of a young lady reminds us a love story narrated by a local writer

“older than old”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

the age of this city gate is astounding-from the 1200s-what?!? built to protect against mongol attacks. incredible. i think our guide said something about the art found in the gate spared it from being demolished but now sure...right near this gate is the oldest pharmacy in continued use. it's continually managed to be a pharmacy since the 1300s.

“Charming gate”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

It is an interesting site. Worth the visit as it shows the religious fervor of a significant number of Croatians.

“another must see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

the oldest town gate is a must see. It is also a religious monument as it hosts an icon of Maria, and gives a good impression of the religious sentiment of the country.
