“Croatian Hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013 via mobile

When we first arrived we were a bit sceptical. The building was an odd one and kind of out of place. But when we walked in the door, of what we now know is an old fire station, we were met by two smiling, very polite, English-speaking croatian women who helped us with everything and told us all about the museums, buildings and parks in Zagreb. Had it not been for Jo, one of the extremely friendly women, we would not have seen the Museum of Broken Relationships, Mali Medo Bar or the Champions League game between local team Dinamo Zagreb and Austria Wien.

If I have to mention a downside, which is indeed very hard, it would be the 10 minute work to and from downtown. Not a problem for two young men, but it could be for elderly people.

The staff were three adorable & hardworking girls (Josipa, Mia, and Lana) that were very much dedicated to making our stay super pleasant. Everything in this guesthouse is pretty new and modern and not even broken in yet. This place is easily accessible by tram although its only about 15 to 20 minute walk from the train/bus station. The staff gave us some real good advice on where to go and what not to miss. The rooms were very comfy and well equipped with wifi available all throughout the building. Very welcoming place that I hope to revisit someday.

Room Tip: The second floor was more quiet but will require climbing a flight of stairs with your luggage.

The girl at the front desk could not have been any friendlier or more helpful. She even booked our taxis from the airport to the hotel and back again at a very reasonable rate. She recommended a restaurant for our pal's 40th birthday bash and it was brilliant (and just 100 yards round the corner. This guesthouse doesn't do food but loads of places close at hand. Thank you for making our trip so enjoyable and for letting Scotland beat Croatia 1 - 0.

Room Tip: Further away from reception is advisable as noise seems to carry through a little.

Stayed as part of a large group for a friends 40th and football trip. Staff, especially Jo, couldn't do enough for us. Helped arrange a restaurant before we arrived for the 40th and all our airport transfers. Could not do enough for us.
Rooms are basic but very functional and everything is new.
Short tram ride or 20 minute walk into the centre so ideal location.
Thanks Jo. We had a great holiday and we would stay again.

We stayed 4 days after booking online. It's an old fire station converted to +- 10 bedroom guesthouse. Easy to find, about 10 mins walk to town or 3 stops on tram.
Staff are just awesome, especially Josipa whose help and friendliness makes the place.
Rooms are well presented. If u stay try and get a room upstairs as no. 2 is close to reception and coffee machine and was a bit noisy at times.

Room Tip: Don't stay on ground floor
