Stayed here from June 24 through June 28. They were completing their renovation and it was the least of their problems. We were given a room in the new wing. Nice room. Television had two English language channels, CNN and BBC, only the BBC channel never produced a picture or sound. The tub in the bathroom was difficult to enter and exit. I am 5'3 and the sides of the tub were a little warm. There is a radiator on the rear wall of the tub which would warm the bathroom or dry towels. Thermostat in the room was set for 21 degrees C which is about 70 degrees. Every time you entered the room and inserted the key card the air conditioning came on. There was no way to raise the temperature or access heat to warm the room, so on chilly mornings the room was cold. Sufficient outlets, but not much strong lighting in the room even with all lights on. There are three restaurants American Steak and Grill, the Cafe, and Piccolo Mondo. They share the same space and apparently the PM menu is only or lunch. We ate at the steak house only once. The food was good the restaurant staff was not informative, they were rude and had a bad attitude. We ate breakfast every morning and that staff was helpful. I can't say if there are better hotels or not. I found Zagreb to be rather unattractive, not tourist friendly, and boring. The highlight was a wonderful trip to Plitvice Lakes.
