I'm really surprised by the high rating this restaurant has. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day.
The waitress was just terrible - never smiled at a single customer, couldn't understand much at all, spoke in grunts. I ordered bread with shopska, didn't get any bread. Ordered beef tenderloin - asked is it rare, how does it come? Answer medium. Clearly medium was only option.
When it came the beef was certainly not tender, overcooked like something out of the 60s. Some was just gristle.
The dish for the shopska was chipped and I had the same knife and fork for both the shopska and the beef. There were no napkins, paper or otherwise, at my table.
The restaurant seems a just reasonable restaurant (as long as its cheap) in Sofia 6 or 7 years ago. But Sofia restaurants have moved on so much since then. You can get good service and Western standard cuisine right across Sofia. This place seemed more like a throwback from the past.
