“Nice hotel for business stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

This hotel was very close to my workplace, so it was quite convenient for me. It is a bit out of the centre, but taxi rides are cheap and the metro ride does not take too long either. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of food offered at breakfast. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. I also still remember the tasty dark chocolate truffles served at the lounge bar.

I ended up in this hotel by accident as the one I should have stayed in was overbooked. What a lovely experience though as I was greeted warmly by a receptionist who smiled and made me feel welcome as did the restaurant staff. The room was also very nice and I did get a good upgrade too.

I was on a joint business/pleasure trip. The Hotel is well situated for some businesses though a bit out of the city and easy to find if you are driving but there was a very large traffic jam on the evening we arrived.. There is not much in the way of entertainment close by but taxis are cheap and there are several good restaurants a few minutes away by car/taxi.

The rooms are a good size but very warm and the air conditioning was not too efficient. The noise from dogs at night was a good reason for keeping the windows closed as there is a large barren area near the hotel where dogs seem to congregate.

We only used the restaurant to eat breakfast but the buffet selection was reasonable and the staff kept the restaurant open late one morning when we slept in.

Overall, the hotel was comfortable and the staff pleasant if not overly welcoming.

This hotel is a very good choice if you work in the area or if you need a 1 night hotel near the airport. It's a decent hotel, but not for visiting central Sofia. Too far away.
The air conditioner is reasonable, but not too efficient
the breakfast is excellent
The staff is extremely nice, but show me a Bulgarian who isn't.

The hotel itself is really really nice. Very clean, nice and big rooms, nice restaurant.
But some of personal at the reception had troubles both speaking and understanding English. And when some inconvenient happened with the shuttle for the airport (nothing serious, but slightly annoying) the guy at the reception were not that polite.
Really nice hotel, but the service can improve!

A walk takes only 5-10 minutes to "G.M. Dimitrov" Metro Station, which makes the hotel conveniently situated. Rooms have enough free space and some- nice balcony with beautiful view. When it comes to meal time, it seems as the hotel is uncrowded. But who would miss smoked salmon and selection of French cheeses for breakfast?

Room Tip: Go for a room with a view of Vitosha Mountain- it worths.

Although I’m in Sofia regularly for business, this is the first time I’ve stayed here, and I was impressed. Vega Hotel has nice rooms – spacious, and well fitted-out - positive staff, good bar food, excellent breakfasts with a terrific spread on offer, and free wi-fi all through hotel (other hotel keepers like Hilton Sofia: take note).

The main downside is that Vega’s not in a perfect location, unless your workplace is nearby – though for the airport, the Business Park, or the offices along Tsarigradsko Shosse it’s fine, and taxis are easy. I don’t want to overplay this… Sofia is small, and the roads around Vega generally are fast-moving.

The room safe in my room was tiny - too small to store a laptop, which for a business hotel is a bit daft. And my room had a faint smell of cigarette smoke – would be great to have no-smoking floors.

Apart from these minor quibbles, I enjoyed my three-day stay a lot. A pleasant and efficient hotel, which deserves to do well. I hope to be back.
