This historic little village in the outskirts of Sofia is known as the home of some of the wealthiest Bulgarians. It is more like an extension of the city and it combines the freshness of the Vitosha mountain with the chic of Sofia, with expensive houses and pricey hotels.
At the heart of it is the exceptional Boyana church – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most magnificent historic landmarks in the country. After we visited it, we sampled traditional Bulgarian cuisine in one of the restaurants here, enjoying the calmness and quietness of Boyana.
