Oda was created by the celebrated film director and artist Paskal Prifti some 8 years ago from scratch combining traditional Albanian features . The restaurant is easily missed on the main road during the day because it is down an unobtrusive alley , by night watch out for the neon sign. Oda is on the Rr Luigj Gurakuqi on the left hand side as you go up from the Opera towards the Ayni Rustemi Statue it's off the last block before the statue .
The atmosphere it is intimate and homely , which was the original idea behind Paskal's venture. There is one main room rather like a living room with artifacts and photographs of old Albania which never seem kitsch. You can sit in an outside area during the summer and there's another smaller room. This was my fourth or fifth visit and I found the food like my first , simple, traditional and excellently prepared . I am a Vegan but always find something delicious amongst the varied menu. There's food to suit all tastes I had two dishes which more than filled me up and the bill came to 1000 Lek which I thought was good value, but you can't really put a price on atmosphere !
