“Excellent receptionist”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

The receptionist (Rovena was her name, I think?!) was absolutely fabulous, utmost professional, very service-minded and smilingly helpful. She willingly provided much needed information about Tirana, a map of teh city and also excellent taxi-services when I wanted to travel to remote areas in the Eastern, mountainous parts of Albania. ... My single-room was comfortable enough, the breakfast decent but the bathroom needs some refurbishment, especially the shower as it left a puddle of water, which never drained, on the floor. ... The location of the hotel is great close to the vibrant (however not especially authentic) Blloku area with all lots of restaurants and cafes. ... I would love to come back to this hotel - mainly due to its excellent staff.

Room was comfortable for the most part. Only issue was the shower that was basically drizzling water and a puddle of water that never drained from the bathroom. Breakfast was decent and the staff are super-helpful with transport info (which everyone will need in Tirana). Location is superb in the middle of the Blloku area with all the good restaurants and cafes. I would've rated the place a 5 if the rate wasn't so high.

We spent one night here at the beginning of our trip into Macedonia.
The hotel is very basic, but perfect for the purpose of visiting the city, ideally located within walking distance of everything in central Tirana.
Upon arrival, we were told that the prime minister lives in the same street, in a block right next to the hotel on the 4th floor. Not sure if this information is correct, but the fact is that there is always a plain clothes security guard outside, day and night, and that they would not let you take a picture of the street with the building in it.
The restaurant is 3 minutes’ walk from Villa Era, a lovely restaurant with outside seating that a lot of locals recommended us. (It does good Albanian food as well as Italian and great pizza) Escaping the dreary London May weather and having our first lunch of the trip in the sun in their courtyard was very idyllic.
Back to the hotel - Reception speak good English and Italian and were very kind in giving us their last copy of Tirana In Your Pocket – pick one up if you get the chance, they are free great little guides.

Stayed two nights during a business trip. Hotel is in a very central part of Tirana, close city centre, government offices, touristic sites (Tirana is a relatively small city). Rooms are clean and comfortable, small bathroom though. Helpful staff and great breakfast. One negative is no elevator so you have to haul your luggage upstairs. I would stay again next time.

It's in a central area (close to the Italian embassy and to some of the Albanian ministries, but also to all the good restaurants of the bloku and the stadium) but it is located in a very quiet street, closed to traffic due to the fact that the prime minister lives in an apartment in the building next door. Staff is very friendly, well trained, speaks good English and fluent Italian. Rooms are clean, furnishing more than decent, satellite TV and free wi-fi with perfect connection. It has no rooms for business meetings, but even though the reception is little, it still has a couple of sofas where you can let people sit in a nice environment.
Breakfast buffet: very basic, good for a hotel of this category in the Balkans: toasts, eggs, honey, cheeses and fruits are preferable to the not excellent croissants and yogurt. Horrible coffee: better to go out and get an espresso in one of the many bars along Ismail Qemali street just outside the hotel.
