After our French polynesian cruise, we stayed a few nights at the pension "Chez Myrna" - BIG MISTAKE! After our first night, we asked if we could leave, but unfortunately we had already made our payment.
The people there were very inconsiderate of their guests. We were in bed by 10pm and did not get a good night sleep on any of the nights. There was constant loud grunting (as if they were about to spit) by the owners; roosters starting to crow at 2am (about 4 of them in sequential order & the process would repeat); there were cats fighting on the roof, dogs barking; the mattress was so uncomfortable and damaging to the back; a large window in the room with a see-through blind from the outside - and the list goes on. I accept that staying at a pension is not as luxurious as a 4 or 5 -star hotel, but there are certain basic things that should be met.
All I can say is that I would never return to Tahiti unless it was one night at a nice resort due to flight-connections. And if you decide to stay at Chez Myrna - do so at your own risk!
