Stayed at this Hotel on the way to and from Bora Bora for our Honeymoon.
Spent the time lazing in the pool which is more like your own beach without waves.
Staff were by and large friendly and accommodating. Great restaurant Le Carre which you absolutely must do, just outstanding

Ia Orana, thank you for your kind review about Le Méridien Tahiti. We are happy to read such comments about our resort, especially the enjoyment you had in our amazing sandy bottom pool (which is the biggest in French Polynesia). As you mentioned, our gourmet restaurant, Le Carré, provide you with the pleasure of diversified and refined cuisines, such as Japanese and French, while enjoying the stunning views and sunsets. Besides, we will forward your positive comments on our staff to our employees, who will be more than glad to welcome you again in Tahiti if a future opportunity occurs again. Best regards.

This hotel is just so peaceful with stunning views and amazing sunsets
There are lush tropical gardens and a white sandy beach with an amazing roof top pond full of koi carp and water Lilly's
The beds were really comfortable and the room was light and airy with a private terrace overlooking the gardens and out to the sea
Some of the staff weren't that friendly but this could have been a translation thing as my French is a bit rusty !
Food in the restaurant is only ok so we ate out most of the time and the food is as good a couple of minutes down the road
Be warned everything is expensive here breakfast off the complex was $30 for two -omelette juice and tea and dinner for two about $60 for fish and chips plus a large beer
Bring antihistamines and toiletries as these are expensive $ 9.50 for a bite stick

Stayed April 2015

regretted booking this deal after reading the many negative reviews about musty outdated rooms.. i normally use airbnb but needed an official hotel for 1 night since my flight arrived at 5am.. BUT they let me check in at 6am instead of 2pm and my room was clean, bright, modern, spacious and comfortable.. the bathroom was bigger than most of my friends' apartments in san francisco.. the early checkin was a significant but singular example of excellent hospitality, but i should also mention that it ended there.. staff seemed bored and aloof and absent (at the coffee shop and restaurant).. but giving this place 4 stars for the generous earlybird checkin and spotless, fresh and clean room - such a relief after a long flight.. note the other reviews, though, because it sounds like i may have just gotten lucky

- free wifi in the lobby.. don't pay the 1500cpf for the wifi in your room.. it's too weak and you'll have to go to the lobby anyway to get anything done, even check in for a flight

- try the 80 cent baguettes from the grocery next door.. they rival anything you've had in paris

- i was there on a sunday so i didn't get to try the food trucks

First let me start by saying that Tahiti is expensive. My stay last month at Le Meridien was perfect, I met people there and made some new friends the place is not too busy, maybe it wasn't tourist peak time but I am happy without the crowds. The beach is awesome to snorkel and just hangout and look at the cool bungalows over the water...but my best memories from there were some of the staff, these people are genuinely happy on a daily and make an effort to help in the smallest things possible...you won't regret your stay.

Lovely hotel with a welcoming open lobby with a breathtaking view. Gentle winds blowing through, lovely tiers of water lillies and herons bobbing around pools of blue water. The pool has a sand bottom which is just awesome. The room was lovely with espresso machine, refrigerator, lovely bathtub, balcony and view.Huts on stilts in the water, many water activities available. I walked five minutes away to a lovely museum, took shuttle to downtown and to the ferry to Morea. I went to a VERY fancy hotel there to have lunch and look around I loved coming back to Le Meridian. A huge surprise was a beautiful and free fire dancers on the beach as a tribute to the environment . Every Friday night they have a Polynesian Show, it is very good, professional and outdoors. The staff made it a very pleasant visit.

Room Tip: I made sure they knew I was a Starwood Preferred and checked out two rooms and chose the one I wante...

We stayed a Le Meridien Tahiti for 1 night pre-cruise. Check-in was prompt. As an SPG member, I didn't receive any special benefits, not even wifi. Upon checking into our room, we walked into a very mouldy/stale stench.... We were so exhausted from our long layover flight, that all we wanted to do was sleep - we had no energy to complain as we were only staying a day. Instead we opened the sliding door for fresh air. Aside from the odor, the room was clean and the bed comfy. We noticed the hotel itself is quite dated... similar to what you would find in Honolulu... things don't appear to have been upgraded (specifically the bathrooms).

We dined at both restaurants. Pricey food, and mediocre quality. Edible, but not what you would expect for a 5-star Starwood property. We highly recommend taking a shuttle or cab to the town and eating there for a larger variety. Food trucks come out at 6pm and have better food. It's also nice to go and explore outside of the small hotel. Alternatively, you can walk out to the neighboring plaza where you will find a few restaurants, bakery and a grocery store. Ideal if you don't have much time to take the cab to town.

After speaking with other tourists, some of whom stayed at Intercontinental, they seemed to have much better food and rooms.

Room Tip: book on your SPG membership to get free wifi

Ia Orana, thank you for taking the time to write a review about our hotel. We are sorry if we did not succeed to answer to your expectations. We will forward your remarks to our management, and it will be used to improve our level of services. For information, most of our rooms and hotel’s infrastructures have been progressively updated since 2011 in order to add a modern touch to our resort, but we are glad you have appreciated the comfort of our rooms, which is one of the things Le Méridien’s resorts are famous for. We are sorry if you were disappointed about our restaurants as it is not in our normal standards. Our two restaurants offer you different varieties of food and cuisines from French to Polynesian, including Japanese and international ones, while mixing the pleasures of all of them in order for you to have a unique and exceptional gastronomic experience. In addition to our rooms and restaurants, our location and view on the lagoon offer you amazing landscapes. We are looking forward to welcoming you again in the future. Best regards.
