“Little piece of paradise at a high price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

We spent 3 nights in one of the bungalows. We arrived at midnight and were driven in the dark and dumped at our door with zero directions on how the accommodations work and what they offer. The bungalow has no access to the water no stairs like I have seen before. It is quite a walk from the far bungalows to the main reception. No ice clise 30 min for ice to be delivered which melts very quickly. We were told there was a free shuttle into town at 9:30 to catch the fairy to moorea. Waited 30 min no free transportation. The gentleman at the font desk went way out of his way after i told him what had happened. He called the ferry and hurried a taxi so we could make the ferry. Because they only have 2 or 3 departures a day. As most of Tahiti is concerned it is very expensive at this resort $100 for breakfast for 2. The beds were wonderfull and the scenery was absolutely stunning.

Room Tip: Don't expect the bungalows to b accessible to the water. Although they are very cool way to exp...

“Nice Day Room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

We needed a hotel room for about 5 hours between the end of a tour and the flight out of Tahiti. It was sure nice to be able to take a nap, catch a shower and just relax before the flight returning us to civilization. The staff was very helpful, the only issue was that I would have expected when I booked a day room it would be available on arrival. We had to wait about 20 minutes but they were careful to apologize for the delay and even gave us a coupon for a couple of free drinks. Hotel seems nice enough to consider coming back to if we were to stay in Tahiti for a few days.

“Meridien was great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

We really enjoyed the sand bottom pool. We went swimming at night and were the only people in the pool. Lovely.

We had a room wiith a balcony overlooking the gardens and the pool.

The room was decorated in neutral colors very simply with tribal designs on the curtains, blanket and light fixtures. Very serene and tasteful.

The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We took a cab from the airport. We liked the location and recommend it. There is a beach as well. As we were going on to the island of Huahine, we did not snorkle in the ocean, so I cannot comment on that

There is free WiFi in the lobby.

There is a shopping center a very short walk from the hotel.

The price of the room is very inexpensive compared to hotels in the US, I feel. Right on the ocean and not high rise after high rise. Truly amazing.

“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Stayed in this hotel for 6 nights in January 2013. Hotel was amazing. Stayed in an overwater bungalow, amazing, like being in paradise. Room was spotless and so beautiful. From the balcony could see the sunrise and sunset and watch all the beautiful fish swimming around. Service was excellent, very friendly people. Grounds are beautiful. Lovely pool with sand bottom. Snorking and kayaking in your own lagoon.
Restaurant rather pricey, especially buffet breakfast. There is a supermarket outside to the left, also a cafe for coffee, sandwiches and pastries. Also an Italian resturant nearby.
There is a shuttle bus from the hotel to downtown Papeete for a small fee, the driver was great fun.
Tours and taxi were arranged on request.
Definitely would stay here again.

Room Tip: Overwater bungalow is a must.

“Underwhelming”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

We stayed here as a post-cruise room before our flight home, booked by the cruise's travel agency. We were supposed to be there from 10AM to 7PM, not long for $150/pers but what choice did we have? However, for the cruise group half of the rooms were not ready to use by 10AM and some had to wait in the lobby until noon. What is the point of a day room that is not ready by the afternoon? My family booked 2 rooms, and the hotel double-booked one of them. A stranger barged in on my mom's room and scared her. Then her key timed out at 5PM. Amateur hour. The beach is small and rocky, and the sand pool had a lot of sand fleas and other bugs that ate us alive (we visited 5 islands in Fr. Polynesia and only got bit here). The restaurant was unimpressive and overpriced, but that is to be expected. I would never stay here again and don't recommend it. However the rooms were roomy and clean.
