“Nice hotel for a short stay at Papeete”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

The hotel is well located and very nice for a very short stay as the view is absolutly not the best of Polynesia, but you're also in Papeete...
The hotel has very nice breakfast, provides free wifi at the reception and has spacious rooms if you're travelling with kids.
You can also store your luggages at the hotel if you need it (as we went for 4 nights at Rurutu and we had to spend a night at Papeete before going to Rangiroa, we left most of our luggages at Tahiti to travel light as possible). The hotel has a nice little pool and a fitness center.
Don't expect to sleep with the doors of your balcony open as the hotel is located on a main avenue, there is a lot of traffic.
The only bad thing with this hotel are the elevators!!!!! Be very carefull when you go in/out as the doors closed after 5 seconds and can hurt you bad if nobody holds the button to keep the doors open.

This hotel is underrated on the website. It is actually modern and well designed with attractive and stylish rooms. The staff were the most dignified and appropriate of all that I encountered in a range of hotel and resort stays throughout French Polynesia is very good value for money in this hugely overpriced country. The location allows easy access to the town cafes and the harbour. There is a comfortable mezzanine café. The pool unfortunately had women exercise groups using it each time we felt like a swim. I encourage you to try this hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed once at front in suite and once at back in smaller room. Back was better as it looks to m...

We stayed at this hotel on two occasions, each time for one night. We enjoyed the spacious, extremely comfortable junior suite. The bed and linen felt delicious and luxurious. There is a small balcony with glimpses of the sea and a separate living room and what appears to be a kitchenette but in fact doesn't have a cooker or microwave. Only an electric kettle. There is a good fridge but there were no plates, cutlery or anything to prepare a snack with.
Although we had a warm welcome on our second visit, the first time we arrived, after midnight, it took nearly fifteen minutes to find our booking in a pretty unfriendly environment. On getting to the room we discovered that the A/C wasn't working and we spent a fruitless hour trying to get it sorted. The management was very reasonable and made a generous deduction from the room price. A nice surprise was the generous sized pool on top of the roof with good loungers and nice views.

We stayed at the Hotel Tahiti Nui for one night after our sailing trip to French Polynesia. Location is excellent for exploring Papeete; close to the market and busy sea front and yet far enough to allow for enjoying silence and mountain views. The room, or better to say the apartment was large, well equipped and clean, hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Price was acceptable especially if you compare it with another hotels in Papeete. I wouldn't mind staying there again.

This place is in the city, near the Bora-Bora Bar and next to a food mart (Shell station).

They have Wi-Fi available in the lobby and wired internet in the bedroom. From time to time wired internet doesn't work so have some patience. Also for some reason my GS3 can not pick-up their wi-fi but my laptop could...don't know why.

There are NO room service at this hotel, therefore you will have to order "to-go" from the Velvet Restaurant. Room is super clean and the pillows are heavenly. I actually purchased a new pillow when I got back to LA and found a similar one.

We travelled to French Polynesia to spend most of our time in Moorea, but we spent a total of three nights in this hotel! (One night as soon as we landed, one more after a day in Papeete and then another the night before our flight back home).
We were not expecting what we got! We stayed in the executive suite on the sixth floor. The apartment was very comfortable and spacious.
There is free WIFI in the lobby (just ask for a password) and an internet chord that can be plugged into computers in every bedroom.
THE FITNESS CENTER IS AMAZING! my brother and i made full use of it - the equipment is new and very well taken care of!
The pool is good but some people like to leave their water exercise bikes inside - a bit annoying.
The hotel is very close to pretty much everything in Papeete! This was very helpful!
We did not eat at the restaurants in the hotel but it was very easy to venture out and find a restaurant in the city - or even better do it Tahiti style and dine at the very large collection of local run food trucks. Quality food for not a lot of money!
Some negatives included -
the elevators! they were very slow and they closed very quickly and that hurt because they did not bounce back when we tried to stop the doors - this isnt helpful when you have lots of luggage! The elevators also felt as if they were going to break down!
You have to swipe your card in order to use the elevators - this we don't mind, but it took a while to respond and we had to swipe the cards several times (and in all directions) to get it to work.
Finally the shower was poorly designed and a lot of water spilt into the bathroom. It was also easy to slip!

The small imperfections did not overshadow our very brief stay - we enjoyed it and the very friendly staff! Perfect for people staying in the city!

Spent a total of seven nights there. Good staff, good facilities and service, handy location to markets/waterfront/ferry. They appear to have a big surcharge when booking city tours on your behalf. We appreciated availability of shower, baggage storage, post checkout.

Room Tip: Go for mountain view if you want a room free from traffic noise
