“Definitely worth a repeat visit”

My husband and I would highly recommend Bedarra Beach Inn. Wish we had known about it earlier and we could have planned our Fiji travels to spend more time at the Inn. The food was outstanding. A big congratulations to the chef and catering staff. We found all staff we encountered very friendly and attentive. The location of the inn is perfect. You look out from the restaurant across the immaculate gardens to the beach fringe with its coconut palms and ocean with coral reef. Perfect place for a relaxing holiday! I have to agree that this is a pretty good place to stay if you're on a budget and don't want the trappings of a big resort. We went there for a wedding at the Shangri-La and the Bedarra compared quite favourably with that, considering the vast difference in pricing.
Our room (a deluxe) was really big, with a lounge, a comfortable king-sized bed (two singles together), and a small table, a fridge and a coffee maker. The cupboard had shelves and lots of hanging space. The bathroom was very large with a nice big vanity and a slightly quirky shower (slowed down and sped up occasionally, no big problem). I’m a light sleeper and found it nice and quiet to sleep – no party animals there when we were, thankfully!
The Bedarra itself is small, kind of like a hotel/motel in Australia, but nicely done with pretty gardens. The pool is very small but would be quite enough to cool you down. The weather was pretty mild when we were there in August (23-24 degrees) so swimming wasn't an option for me at the time!
The food was good and very reasonably priced, although the menu was not too extensive. The chicken burgers were great. Service was very prompt - in fact we started to wonder about others' complaints about 'Fiji time' as regards service because wherever we ate, it was always really quick.
All the staff were very nice and polite - we were only there for three days so didn't really have much chance to strike up a rapport but we were very happy with the service.
The only small issue I had at all was that our lounge seat smelt a bit musty and as a result so did the room. We opened the doors and let the air through and that was fine - it's probably difficult to keep things from doing this as the air is so humid. Apart from that the room was very clean and tidied daily.
We got a small car from Nadi airport and drove back and forth from the Shangri-La and the trip took about 20mins each way. The roads had lots of potholes, but they weren’t too bad - cows do wander across occasionally but as you can't go too fast, this wasn't a problem. No street lights away from Sigatoka at night so we took it carefully.
The Shangri-La was lovely but huge and impersonal with quite small rooms and although the food was nice, it was really expensive. The Bedarra suited us well - it gave us a chance to get out and about a bit, it was comfortable and clean and didn’t cost the earth.

We have just had 10 wonderful days at Bedarra. The Staff were friendly and attentive to all your needs. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, tourist from nearby resorts would come for meals. The rooms were large and clean. The grounds emmaculately keep. After many trips to Fiji we have found the place to call home in Fiji. We will return.

after reading other reviews on this hotel I have to agree this hotel is everything described and more! The meals are good and well priced, and the service is so warm and welcoming. Very personal and great if you,'re not into 'all-inclusive tourist meccas'.
We loved it!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Bedarra for 4 nights in December, on a stopover on our way to New Zealand. I based my decision to book at Bedarra on the really positive reviews on this website, and the CHEAP CHEAP cost.

The airport transfers we booked at the time of the accomodation, and it was easy. The resort is a good 2 hours from the airport, but the drive was lovely and you get to see so much of Fiji on the way. The hotel is so small, smaller than anywhere I've ever stayed, but the room was HUGE, and staff were excellent, (didn't forget our names, gave us yummy welcome drinks, the gardener befriended my boyfriend to chat rugby!), and the restaurant is fabulous. The seafood curry, and any of the fish dishes were just amazing and the prices very very good.

The beach is just across from Bederra, and is NOT a swimming beach. It's all coral, and is great for snorkeling and there is some lovely grassed off areas for suntanning, but if you want sandy beach, do a day trip to Robinson Carusoe Island, it was a really fun day trip and met lots of awesome people and had a great Fijian guy make me a purse out of cocnut leaves. (Sad to say, didn't even try and take it past customs! haha)

All and all a fabulous mini break in Fiji.

As previous posts have said, what makes this lovely hotel are most definately the staff. The personal touch (they all remember your names!) and friendliness you get here is amazing and I'm sure not like the bigger more commercialised resorts. For us though the quality of the food was second to none and far cheaper than the Outrigger just down the road. We were lucky enough to have a deluxe room in the main part of the hotel which had balcony sea views, large very clean and private, only thing maybe considering is taking some clothes hangers as the wardrobe only had 5 for the both of us, not a drama though as the weather was 28-30 degs every day and so the creases just dropped out in a few hours!

The only downside I see about the Coral Coast (this isn't in particular to the Bedarra) but if you want to do day trips to the outer islands it a very long day as it's 2hrs to get back to Nadi and then the boat trip so you won't get much time on the island, we did Robinson Crusoe island which was a great day and back by 6pm, I think if you wanted to do any of the Yasawa group you'd be better staying closer to Nadi or on the island group themselves.

Would go back to Bedarra tomorrow though if you want a lovely place to stay for a week, away from the Winter of Adelaide and great food and staff.

For a well priced hotel this place exceeds all expectations, rooms are big and clean, the restaurant is reasonably priced and good food but the staff are what make this place special! Starting with a friendly 'Bula' followed by a welcome song the whole stay was filled with the lovely people at the Bedarra.

The only slightly disappointing aspect was the pool, that isn’t as good as some big resorts, but the snorkelling in the coral more than make up for it.

If you enjoy a relaxing holiday filled with cocktails or a more fun packed place to venture out this is perfect, can’t wait to go back!
