“Second time just as lovely..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW via mobile

We chose to holiday again at the Intercontinental as my husband and I AND our kids (9 & 6) just loved our stay there the year prior. The resort itself is just beautiful, with the added bonus of being a short 4hr flight & then 45 min drive away (a long enough traveling day with kids!).

Both times we have stayed in 'only' a Garden view room & just cannot fault it. They are the largest 'twin' rooms I've ever seen with a great bathroom layout that allows numerous people to be in there at the same time. This time we were in an Ocean Front block which was just beautiful! SO lovely to wake up & walk a few steps to see the ocean first thing in the morning.

The restaurants hadn't changed. Buffet nights still all the same, menus the same.. but it has all your 'must have' basics, pasta, pizza, curries etc..

Being another year on, we did start to notice a little more 'wear & tear' around the resort, it wasn't feeling as 'new' as it had.. but this is only natural. Hopefully they will be onto these little things to help keep that luxurious 5 star feeling.

One small negative was that it was hard to get staff poolside. We had met with friends on our last trip & we all commented that if there was a staff member constantly walking around the pool asking the guests if they wanted anything, we wouldve been more inclined to order something... $$$

In all honesty, I find the resort quite reasonable in terms of prices for everything - given that it is 5 star, quite remote, & food is known to be expensive over there. I even thought the prices at the Day Spa were quite reasonable as compared to what you would pay here in Australia.

This year we are thinking of coming back AGAIN in November. Since our first stay I have had 3 separate lots of friends go & stay at the resort all last year from my high praise & photos of the resort. This time my parents would also like to come with us... so hopefully we'll see you again this November!!!

was there for 2 days for a destination Wedding , its close to a 4.5 star , beautiful Grounds , fantastic Staff & thoughtfull Management in all area s, Beautiful Private beach , We stayed in a Garden View room , great room . buut @ 4 pm the Clouds Broke , Rained heavily , Service went of extremely well though, but all area s for Dining are not Air Conditioned , reception was outdoors & the Humidity was extreme , swetting all night , drink more grog etc , i ve lived in Mackay , the Humidity matched anything i ve felt up there .
Breakfast was 35.00 Aussie a pop , not up to standard of the rest of the hotel really , there are cheaper options next door , 5 min walk . its also 1 hr from Nadi 130 Aussie return ea , but if you can afford 350 a night its a great place to chill out . thanks to Jimi , and all the staff .

Room Tip: depends how much dosh youve got , beach front room s looked lovely

This beautiful resort is nestled on Natadola Bay. You feel like you have arrived in paradise from the moment you are greeted at reception where friendly staff make you feel welcome with drums and huge smiles. Bula vinaka "warm welcome" is at the essence of this property. Our well appointed Bure was right on the White sandy beach front near the amazing infinity pool. The restaurants are well placed to enjoy views of the bay, the pool or gardens - pick your favourite and the attentive staff are there to make sure you are soon enjoying your favourite drink or choosing from the varied menus. This resort works for couples, families and groups. The wonderful friendly Fijian staff adore children and make families feel comfortable. There are plenty of fun activities for kids to enjoy such as soldier crab races, exploring the rock pools at low tide, kids club and the large family pool. The adults only infinity pool is the place for relaxation and smiling waiters will even deliver a cocktail to you whilst you relax in the cooling water. There is daily entertainment by local dance and drumming troupes who perform at Kama Lounge followed by the ritual fire lighting ceremony. The spa is divine and the international golf course is challenging and affords amazing views of the bay. Whilst there is capacity for a large number of guests, the lay out of the resort with extensive gardens, water features and low rise accommodation spread over the large grounds means you never feel like you are in a crowd. Word of warning - you will not want to leave.

We stay here every year for our wedding anniversary which is coming up again. No more will we do this, But i feel to warm people now i have read reviews about this thieving that goes on there. I been going to Fiji for years and years and decided to start staying at Incontinental We always take friends with us as well, because it was nice and easy to get to, It the first time i experience any sort of stealing at all and we have traveled all over the world. Not good to not even care and give us some sort of good will as we only got paid out $10,000 as we did not personally list the watch with insurance (we were bless to get that ) so we were disappointed with the way it was handled. The hotel did not get the police involved we did so i would never stay there not worth the risk & i have now read other reviews, no wonder they did not want to get police involved as they had it happen so much.

Room Tip: Don't stay here as there is thieving going on in our room, as we were on a ground floor beach fr...

My husband and I went over to Fiji for a wedding to be held at the Intercontinental and therefore went across with a group of friends.
The resort itself was amazing, in the most beautiful part of Fiji.
It is a great place for a group of friend's, swimming in the adults only infinity pool, over looking the ocean sipping cocktails.
Whilst I say this, it is also a romantic get away for a couple and there was also a separate large pool for families with children.
We were upgraded on check in from a garden view room to a pool view room - the room was amazing. ..definitely 5 star!
The included breakfast buffet was substantial with variety for all tastes.
There is a convenience store and gift shop on site so you could buy snacks and drinks.
My only negative comment would be that due to its location, you had to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner all at the resort. There were 3 choices but I found 2 of the 3 quite pricey and therefore ate mainly at the one place.
Other resorts with restaurant facilities were at least 15-20 minutes away.
The wedding we were there for was spectacular and given it poured with rain on that afternoon, the alternate undercover (but still outdoor) option was immaculate.
Overall I rate this resort very high....its the type of place to go when you want to do nothing but relax.

The only thing that lets this hotel down was the lack of variety for the food. The food is ‘ok’ in the main restaurants whereas the hotel itself is fantastic. I would not liked to have stayed for more than the 3 days that we stayed, as the food variety is poor. The buffet in the main restaurant is like a rail-way station with slightly inferior (quality) food and too many people. We did visit their top restaurant which was excellent.

We payed slightly more and got access to the club area. The pool area here is wonderful (as is the adults only pool) and the service in the club-room is exceptional. The hotel rooms itself are huge and wonderful.

I used the gym one time and the gear there is modern and the running machnes worked well. I found it hard to hear the TV when using the equipment.

We will probably return but we are worried about the food quality.

We stayed in march 2015, the stay was great right from the start. The resort and beach are spotless, the staff are extremely professional, the food and drinks are great. All in all an extremely enjoyable trip.

My only slight criticism is that the day trips and activities can be a little pricy, but hey you stay in a 5 star resort to skimp on day tours.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone
