Stayed there for 5 Days, Was clean and staff Friendly.
Budget Hotel not really Fancy but would stay there again !!
Drive around Island for Beaches there are so many..
Saturday Market was Fun,
Church on Sunday to see all the Ladies Dressed Up with their Hats. Great Snorkeling off the Roratongan Resort..
Day trip to Aitutaki a MUST !!!
New Zealand $ so your money goes farther ( Nice Plus)
Black Pearls cheaper than Tahiti and in my opinion Nicer too.

  • Liked — Clean and not Expensive,
  • Disliked — not much beach, mostly coral ( who cares) plenty more Beaches everywhere else on Island! go Explore...
  • Tips/Secrets: — No Phone or TV ! Internet Cafes everywhere.. Bus on Fridays that tours the Bars book early!

We are just back from here and quite enjoyed it. Clean and in a really good position 2km out of town. It was great being able to use the free snorkelling gear - the staff were also helpful when we needed to book activities.

The gardens/paving are just gorgeous and the large deck on which you can order your dinner is lovely. The meals are very well priced - probably the cheapest meals we found on the island, and were nice. More beach-house than luxury, but we'd stay there again.

i stayed at the club raro for 9 days and wouldnt stay there given the choice again. the beach is not a beach at all- there is no sand only coral so we never went swimming in the sea in front of club raro- instead we got a bus pass ($20NZD FOR 10 rides) and were able to stop off around the island to find the nicest secluded white sandy beaches.
The service was also the main factor in letting club raro down, there are hardly any staff and the quality and cleaniness of the dining area could be much improved.
We ended up having lunch at The Rarotongan and ended up returning there everyday for lunch and swimming at the beach. The food was great and the service was excellent. So if i was to return i would never stay at Club raro but would opt for The Rarotongan. It is however very much a family resort so is not as quiet or secluded as some resorts.

Loved the setting, absolute waterfront, didn't matter to us that the beach was coral as they have the most amazing huge sand decks 20 feet above sealevel where we could look down on all the activity in the lagoon. The rooms were clean and had privacy and great water views. The pool had just been painted and looked stunning at night, we spent most of our stay in the swim up pool bar with a cocktail in hand.

The meals were well priced and filling and the staff were excellant.

we were stuck in raro for 2 extra days when we got bumped off our flight. We decided to take some friends advice and stay the night at club raro. We had come from the edge water and really.. club raro cannot compete.. I ws excited about the swim up bar. but the pool was so dirty and the walls were so slimy i didnt want to swim up to the bar at all. the meals were cheap, probably the cheapest we had on the island. the beer was expencive. all in all it was a disopointment. Lovely staff tho.
