“Everything in one place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

LIKED the food and entertainment, the people and the ambience.

DISLIKED catching the bus as the bus stops weren't sign posted and buses ran on Island Time, which is great if you're used to the heat.

“Love it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

It's a really good place to buy some goods. I bought there a lot of things and I think you can buy there cheaper than in the shops. For the first time I tried the best uto pancackes! I paid just 1$ for the big one.
If you want to try one, you need keep looking around, cause they are disappearing too quickly.

“A lot of great food.”

Nice to try Cook Island food. You wont be hungry when you leave the Punanga Nui market. Dont miss the danceshow with children, beautiful dance and music.

“Always a favourite...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

Everyone goes to the market. Don't expect bargains because it's not that kind of place. But you will meet friendly locals / find fresh produce / and sample a huge variety of different foods. Best not to have breakfast before going there!!

Also the local bread company launched a new range of specialty breads - which were very good.

“Great way to kick off your Saturday!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

If your in Raro on Saturday mornings you must visit punanga Nui markets, went twice got there about 9am each time, personally don't feel like you have to get there as early as others say, as there is lots to go around. Do NOT leave without buying some Ika Mata (Raw Fish) from one of the locals set up in the middle of markets it is the BEST, beats any restaurants hands down. As for the knick knacks I found the majority were cheaper at the stores rather then the markets. Be sure to check out there cultural show also, it's free (give them a small donation though when the hat goes around) and the dancers are AMAZING!
