“Nice place but too cold in winter”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

It's a nice place but we made the bad choice of picking a table right next to the door. There was an AC which didn't seem to be working since it was too cold in there. On top of this, a member of their personnel (one of their cooks I guess) went out several times to have a smoke. Each time him or a customer entered or exited the place, a gust of cold wind came in, which was very annoying.
The server (yes, Saturday night and there was only one server) was very kind but sort of "overexcited" and he was wearing casual clothes (t-shirt, a pair of jeans and sneakers) which didn't match with the place.
The food was really good. I have nothing to complain about it, except that there was a huge fly swimming in my glass of wine! I just asked for another glass but such thing really made me sick for the rest of my time there.
My advice: don't sit near the door and watch out for flies on your food and wine.

“Best steak in Uruguay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2014

My husband and I arrived early at the restaurant - 6ish, but the owner was kind enough to give us the best table in the place and it just got better from there. A bottle of Pissano Verde Virgen and the complimentary little pizza was a nice start. The Bife Ancho and Cerbo were perfecto, along with the salad and pumpkin we ordered. Wow, what a place, we'll be back. Definitely earns its ranking amongst the best in Montevideo!

“Not bad....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2014

Very pleasant establishment which had a definite feel of being a locals haunt. Good value, although the service could have been slightly better as we waited over an hour for our main course - although that could have been due to a language difficulty. The meat was nice, but the chips were frozen and a bit tasteless. Overall ok though - but there are better.

“Excellent meal in a small neighbourhood restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

We went for a family dinner at this little restaurant in the Punta Carreta neighbourhood. We arrived early (about 21.00 hrs) to an empty restaurant that slowly filled as it is midweek and the locals are at the beach in Punta del Este or similar. We received a small Pizza as a free starter. We ordered Entrecote and a ravioli dish as well as a sausage. All dishes came soon. We drank a red wine that we enjoyed. The dishes were flavorsome and were among the best we had in Uruguay. The service was friendly and attentive. A coffee finished the meal nicely. Altogether a very enjoyable meal.
