“Excellent Experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2014

What a wonderful unexpected experience! We arrived into Montevideo airport so early in the morning that the car rental offices were still closed. Tired and weary of our long travels, we decided to find a hotel at the last minute to rest and shower. We were referred to this hotel just up the coast 20 minutes from the airport. What a beautiful friendly place. The front desk staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. The room was a suite -- a bedroom and a living room with a small balcony. The breakfast was one of the best we've had in Uruguay or Brazil! They also have a small restaurant in the lower level. We had a quiet dinner sitting outside in a small, intimate alcove. We loved it so much that we stayed an extra day! Definitely plan to stay again!

We had like to this hotel, beginning by the quarter wich is located- Carrasco- near the Cassino of Montevideo, wich have many options of restaurants and cafes. There is the Restaurant Garcia with a spectacular baby-beef, and good wines, like PRELUDIO, from tanah grape. Hotel workers are well-trained, the suites are very nice, comfortable, warm and delightfool. Closer of it, there is the Rambla Carrasco, a large sidewalk marging the Rio de La Plata.

Room Tip: You must eat at Garcia's, at least once a time.

Very well located, in the neighborhood of Carrasco. The staff is corteous and the rooms are cozy. There is a jacuzzi in the backyard. Breakfast is frugal but of good quality. There are also good restaurants nearby. You will certainly get value for your money.

I have stayed at a large number of 4 and 5 Star hotels in Montevideo and this is my pick due to its location and relaxed but proffessional care of its clients. The rooms are excellent and the breakfasts amongst the best in Uruguay.

This is a very nice, cozy small hotel. One of the nicest things is that you get a separate dinning area (equipped with a small fridge, a microwave and service for two) from the bedroom. Both areas are ample and comfortable.

The included buffet breakfast is very complete and served in a very nice restaurant in the lower level.

The hotel is located in Carrasco a neighborhood were people live. So you have a nice supermarket (Tienda Inglesa), shops, restaurants, bars, all just a couple of blocks away. The coast is only three blocks away, and even the new casino (in the Sofitel hotel) is in walking distance.

Note that the "free parking" is actually a reserved space on the street, but it serves its purpose.

So, for a regular hotel price you get a nice suite, in a very nice neighborhood. I recommend this hotel.

This is my second trip to Montevideo and the first one staying at this hotel. During the 10 days we were there it definitely exceeded all of my expectations. First of all, the room was very comfortable with a separate space between the bedroom and the dining area. It was larger than expected, even including a small kitchen area with coffee maker and a microwave. As for the staff, they were lovely. I particularly remember a very nice lady named Gabriela who served us breakfast every morning and made us feel right at home. It's also located in Carrasco, a great neighborhood, with restaurants like Garcia and Dackel within walking distance (under 60 seconds for sure). Having the weather forecast delivered every night was a great touch. I will definitely be returning.

Olde world charm with modern amenities, this little boutique hotel was a find. First & foremost be advised hotel is in the very upscale suburb of Carrasco not in Montevideo proper. It's a pretty little Town with numerous restaurants and exclusive shops all within the immediate vicinity of the hotel, this is a walking neighborhood. Hotel "suites" comprise of 2 rooms - living room with small "kitchenette" (fully outfitted even with coffee for the coffee maker), a sofa, flat screen tv, table & chairs; bath with luxurious amenities (robe too), and a decent sized bedroom with quality linens (no tv). Good Wifi, free parking in underground garage. Excellent breakfast served in the lower level dining room with its "stone walls" (very European) and oozing with charm. Although the grounds are not extensive, it is well landscaped with rock walls and patios - there is even a small pool. For those desiring the beach - the walk would be no more than 5 minutes. Carrasco is the town where the airport is located and the ride into Montevideo will cost $45-$50 (from airport). Bus service exists - there is a stop right outside of hotel. Service was superb and we highly recommend this hotel if Carrasco is where you want to be.

Room Tip: Without our asking, hotel changed the room they had reserved for us from twin beds to king when they...
