For longer stays in Montevideo this is the place to reside. The location is in the business hub of the city, so most of the services you may need on any extended visit are within walking distance (car rentals, couriers, airline offices, office services, post office). Its also in Ceudad Vieja, the historic part of the city and faces Sarandi, a vibrant pedestrian street. Good restaurants abound (try Estrecho open only for lunch) and twice a week there is amazing farmer's market right outside the door.
The apartment itself is well designed, clean (housekeeper 3 times a week), and has everything you need. Also everything works, like the internet, which in Uruguay can sometimes be a problem, even in the good hotels. I think I was the first resident of one of the apartments, and missing was an ironing board. I mentioned it to the manager (whose office is in the same building, a plus) and within a half an hour it had been bought and delivered. The building has a concierge which is also practical.
Often in short term apartment rentals, you get the space you are looking for but not the service. You are handed a key and left on your own. In Sarandi suites you have all the services you need close by plus people to talk to if there is an issue. I am in the luxury hotel business, so I enjoy comfort and look for service. I rebooked with hesitation my second stay and look to being back.
