“A little bit of home in Montevideo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2011

I was amazed with this cozy and tasteful restaurant in Montevideo. I am Portuguese living in Mexico for the past 3 years and went to Uruguay for vacations. When i found out there was a Portuguese restaurant i had to try it. I really felt at home. The appetizers of codfish terrific, the "bife na pedra" a must, and desserts if you still have some space in your stomach an obligation. Has a good selection of portuguese wines but not only. On top of all this the service is 5 stars. Managed directly by the owner, we had a chance to talk to her and by the end of the night were listening to Madredeus (portuguese group not the restaurant ;) in a vinil record stereo they have there... Highly recommend it!

my girlfriend and i stop in around the 1st 0f april and had an enjoyable late snack and a nice wine...while we were there we chatted with the lady behind the bar who ended up being one of the owners...we only had a light meal but it was really nice...the owner recomended other resturants in montevideo and several in B.A.... she then called us a cab and came outside to give directions to the driver...great meal, nice atmosphere.. they specialize in portuguese cuisine
