“Truly a sacred place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2012

My husband and I had the privilege of staying at Wilka T'ika for 5 nights in the end of January. The guide books tell you not to go to Peru during the rainy season, but they're wrong. The whole countryside is lush and green and there are few tourists. At Wilka T'ika we stayed in one of their uniquely beautiful rooms, enjoyed the sacred gardens and the beauty everywhere, treated ourselves to a massage and to some time on Carol's crystal bed, and ate the carefully prepared and delicious meals. Carol Cumes has created a magnificent space and has done so with deep respect for the people and the land. She is to be commended. We would recommend this place to anyone who wants to bask in the beauty and serenity it offers.

Room Tip: Any room you get at Wilka T'ika will be beautiful and comfortable. You can't go wrong.

I have stayed and visited Willka T'ika multiple times. The beauty and magnificence of the 7 Chakra Gardens are unbelievable. The peaceful lucma tree is serene to reground yourself and recall and write in your journal. The yoga studios are spacious and beautiful with Andean Artifacts and harmonious colors. Nothing compares to a visit to this retreat. Please do keep this a secret because only those visitors who will spend quiet time, and luscious soaking under the moonlight, will understand. Thankyou Carol for creating this place for all of us to renew our souls and spirits!

Room Tip: Choose a room in the newer section of the retreat for greater spaciousness.

As I write this review, Willka T'ika has 35 excellent ratings out of 35 reviews. You can believe every word of praise. We stayed there for a week.

This would be the toughest question to answer: What's the best part of Willka T'ika? Well, actually, the answer is simple: Any and every aspect. Here is what all previous reviewers have right: the gardens/grounds/atmosphere, the food (I'm not a vegetarian, and every meal is fantastic), the rooms, the beds (w/hot water bottle), the staff, the school Carol supports, Carol herself (Mark was not there when we were), the location in the heart of the Sacred Valley, guide Gabby (if you are fortunate enough to have her...you could not have a better one), the Solar baths.

The only things I have to add that I did not see in the 20+ reviews I scanned before writing this one is that if anything is ailing you, the staff will brew up a tea that will address your ailment. If you have no ailment, and you just like fantastic tea, you will get that. Also, if you want wine, or beer, that is available as well.

If you are headed to the Sacred Valley, take the time to spend more than a couple of days there; if you are staying, you cannot find a place more amazing in every way than Willka T'ika.

Room Tip: You cannot go wrong (we stayed as part of a large group, and every one loved their room).

I've stayed in this wonderful place twice and always leave with the feeling that my stayed wasn't long enough.
The place is lovely since the moment you get there, the gardens, the rooms, the room's names, the peace you feel inside.
I love when Carol takes you on a tour around the hotel because she tells you the story of each corner.
The chakra gardens are a piece of heaven, the food is outstanding. I'm not vegetarian at all however in the property, meals are vegetarian but absolutely delicious! Everything is home made, even a lot of the veggies are grown there.
You must book in advance as they don't accept walk ins.
Finally, consider at least a two nights stay so you can fully enjoy of this place.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms on top of the main house, specially the one above the kitchen.

This place is like NO other place on earth. You get the chills the minute you enter the gates. The gardens mesmerize you with their scents, colors, and shapes and the chakra gardens embrace every one of your senses. The rooms are immaculate and spacious with amazing views. The staff is delightful and full of passion. The massage therapists are the best I have EVER had!! The most touching part however is Carol the owner who has built this gem in the hills of Peru from rubble. She has also dedicated much of her success to helping local children attend school and actually build a school. There are no words to describe what this one woman has done to change the lives of so many. I am so inspired I plan to help!!! HIGHLY encourage you to visit the school and meet the cherubs who attend. They are taught skills so that begging is not their way of life. They walk for hours in the cold to get there! It will change your life to meet these wonderful children!!! It changed mine!! This is a place that will forever remain etched in your heart and soul. It holds the secret to life...

Room Tip: Every room offers a special experience.

My husband and I stayed at Willka T'ika in May of 2009. We absolutely adored the place. The gardens are magnificent and we would spend much of our time soaking up the beauty. We were lucky enough to be there while Carol was there and to be able to have her walk us through the gardens providing us with many teachings on the various chakras, the peruvian culture, the horticulture and the history of the place which I found quite fascinating. The food was incredible and the staff was extremely accommodating, lovely and helpful. I highly recommend this place.

My stay @ Willka Tika last year was beyond my expectations for hospitality, food, lodging, staff, landscaped grounds, and visits to the Sacred sites. The stay changed my Life in many, many ways. I would and have highly recommended a visit to Willka Tika to Family & Friends. I am planning another trip in the near future, and will be taking a group of students with me. A trip of unforgettable experience! Sincerely, Donna Lambdin, Reiki Master Teacher & Practitioner
