“A true Guest House!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

I have stayed at the Guesthouse Coya for several years when I travel on medical team trips serving the area. I am always impressed by the cleanliness and friendliness of this place. It has clean comfortable rooms with nice private bath. The breakfast is good with a variety of items. We eat many dinners at the guesthouse as we get back late from working at the food is also good. It is cozy, with a nice third floor indoor area with table and chairs as well as comfortable couches. There is an outdoor patio to hang out on as well. They have a nice garden area as well.

The best part of all is the staff. Stephan went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and meet our needs. The rest of the staff are wonderful as well. It is like home away from home.

The guesthouse is a short bus ride to Pisac and Calca. Coya is a quiet town for the most part (you will hear roosters and barking dogs and occasional celebrations), and it is a lovely community to walk around and see life of a small, less touristy community. There is the Kausay Wasi medical clinic in Coya that is a good place if you ever are in need of medical attention.

Room Tip: The '02' and '03' room numbers lood out to the back yard. There really isn't a...

Our medical team stayed here in October for 8 days while carrying out our surgical campaign at the nearby Kausay Wasi clinic, and after long hard days of surgery I can't tell you how wonderful it was to walk back to the guesthouse knowing there would be a warm welcome, hot shower, lovely meal and a cosy bed waiting.Rita,Norbert and the 2 lovely ladies in the kitchen who prepared delicious dinners and breakfasts for us could not have been more helpful, friendly hosts and I would recommend guesthouse Qoya wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a "home from home" in the sacred valley.

Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and professional flexibility in the support of our advanced medical mission to the region. We were fed quite well and with great presentation. So many in our group of 20 appreciated the access to the internet - sufficient enough to hold a few much needed skype sessions with family back in the states. As a group, we will certainly be back next year. As an individual, I hope to book a stay at the Guesthouse for my family. There certainly could not be a more friendly and accommodating base camp for any excursion of the Sacred Valley. Book your stay here and then send Norbert an email and give him a head's up as to your plans while in the area. He likely has some excellent suggestions as to how to get the most out of your trip.

Our mission group stayed here the end of July till the first part of August and we found this awesome hotel a home away from home. From Norbert asking us how we liked our eggs every morning for breakfast, to the awesome meals we had in the evening, this place was an absolute gem! Each of the bedrooms had plenty of room with each having their own private bath. Beds were comfortable. The Guesthouse was just beautiful inside and the views from the balcony on the third floor were magnificent. Norbert can arrange whatever transportation needs you may have and is great in suggesting other places to eat in the adjoining towns. Great place, look forward to returning next year!

Our group stayed here for 8 nights and it was an excellent experience. I felt very safe and comfortable the whole time. The guesthouse is very clean, Norbert fed us well, and the fridge was always stocked with cervezas! Norbert also arranged transportation and recommended excellent restaurants to visit. It was also very helpful that Norbert and his wife were fluent in both English and Spanish. Overall, I had an excellent experience and would highly recommend this guesthouse to all travelers.

Room Tip: 2nd floor was the best floor to avoid the morning breakfast clatter. Also, time your showers when no...

My Peru tour group stayed at the Guesthouse Qoya for four days in May 2013, and loved it. The rooms are clean, spacious, comfortable and decorated in charming traditional style, and the gardens are a delight. Rita and Norbert Haase are gracious and very thoughtful hosts, who arranged everything from a despacho ceremony to excellent drivers for our excursions. One big advantage of this place is that Norbert is a tremendous cook. The very reasonable rates here make this place -- 5 miles from Pisac, and convenient to Cusco, Calca and Urubamba too -- make the Guesthouse Qoya very hard to beat, maybe the best value for your money in the Sacred Valley.

Our group stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. Our rooms were spacious, clean, and more than comfortable (no weird smells or unidentifiable growth in the shower). Norbert was happy to arrange transportation for our daily outings. And the evening meals were delicious (and seconds were always available). The property is beautiful with flowers everywhere, and safe. I can't say that I have experienced more comfortable lodging anywhere. Be aware that you will need to bring your own hair dryer. The Haase's work hard to provide a lovely experience for their guests--please extend the same courtesy to them while in their home and when leaving. I hope to return!

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor can be a little noisy in the mornings during breakfast (but that is only an...
