“OK Hotel, but few improvement points”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

The hotel itself is nice and modern, well positioned in Miraflores. Improvement points are for the staff, when we arrived (10 PM!) the room was not ready yet (it took an hour, at least we got a Pisco Sour...) and there was no electricity. The other problem is that the hotel is very noisy. Breakfast is nice.

As with most reviewers, we stayed at this hotel on our way to and from the various Peru tourist sites. The hotel itself is clean and in a good location in Miraflores close to the ocean, shopping centre, restaurants etc. Our first standard room was spartan but fit for purpose, our second room on 7th floor more luxurious. However, we did have problems in both rooms with noise due to guests leaving/arriving at all times of the night. Our first breakfast in the restaurant was a pleasant surprise given the quality of the evening meal the night previous, however, we didn't fare so well with our second breakfast - quinoa pancakes were so dry they just crumbled on the plate. We also had issues with front desk staff. The room information clearly stated check out was 1pm so we explained we were doing a city tour but would be back to check out. However, the female on the desk was adamant that check out was 12 and we had to check out before we left for the tour (8.00 a.m.!) It was obvious she wanted us out of the room and was unwilling to compromise in any way. We were actually back at the hotel at 11.30 am which would have afforded us the opportunity to freshen up before our return flight to the UK. When we mentioned this the female just looked away, no apologies, nothing, which is not the attitude one expects from an executive hotel and it does ruin the experience somewhat. Also of all the hotels we stayed in whilst in Peru, this was the only one which did not offer complimentary bottled water, a small point but one worth mentioning, particularly when the tap water in not drinkable and for teeth cleaning etc. In our opinion if this hotel describes itself as Executive then they need to iron out some basics to bring it up to that standard.

For our purposes, Lima was merely a stepping stone on our way to better places such as Machu Picchu and the Amazon.
This hotel was fine for our purposes:-
1. Reception area and staff were OK without being outstanding.
2. Rooms were largish with modern comfortable king-size beds, excellent bathroom, free fast and stable wi-fi, and a useable room safe but too small to fit a laptop.
3. Restaurant was OK. Dinner service was slow but the food was fine. Breakfast was ordinary with those horrible sloppy South-American style scrambled eggs.
4. Location is a short walk to the Miraflores shopping precinct.
5. Unfortunately, the only way down to the beach is by taxi as the hillside is unsafe for walking (not the hotel's fault of course).
6. A taxi is required if you wish to visit downtown Lima.
7. If you need to leave early in the morning at say 3am (as we did on our 2nd day) this hotel doesn't supply breakfast but the one across the road, owned by the same company is open, and you can have a cold breakfast there.

All in all, the hotel was fine for us.

Note to moderators: This hotel is better than average but not very good. Perhaps a "better than average" or "Good" rating could be established?

Room Tip: Our rooms was quiet. High up and away from reception and the dining room if you want quiet.

The hotel is average in everything... can´t complain on the room size, service or cleaness.
The problem with this hotel is if you look 3 blocks around, you will find for the same money, excellent breakfasts, excellent rooms, excellent gym and pool or whatever amenity you need, but regrettably there is nothing excellent on this hotel that you shurely will find on Mireaflores area. This hotel is in a great location in the beautiful Mira Flores area of Lima. Our room was a nice size and well done. The included breakfast was average, but adequate. However, the rudeness of the front deck clerk both afternoons and evenings we stayed there ruined the pleasant experience. Not only did he deny the removal of an incorrect charge on our bill, he demanded that we get out of our room an hour before we had to do so knowing full well the guidelines for the tour group that we were with that uses the hotel a great deal. It simply is not worth staying at a nice facility only to have a staff member ruin the experience for you.

We used this as a day room spot while waiting for flight home. the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Very clean. Location was great. just blocks from the beach and Lagromar mall. If there was a hiccup it was in the restaurant. Something was going on in the kitchen. Some of us waited for over an hour to get entrees. Food came out seemingly at random. I received my appetizer after about 25 minutes. Then my entre after another 25 minutes while other friends had still not been served their appetizer. When food arrived it was delicious. The wait staff was wonderful.

as other reviewers have said, the location is good for access to shopping, restaurants and the ocean mall. there were drapes in the room which totally darkened the room at night. the walls are thin but if you leave the fan on overnight as white noise, the room will be quiet. there were 2 english news channels, bbc and cnn. the mini-fridge and free computer access were convenient. there was always clear hot water but the water temperature when showering would sometimes change from hot to colder and back to hot. the main problem with the hotel was the breakfast buffet service. the choices of foods were fine but the eggs were always cold and they sometimes ran out of items so you never knew for sure what might be available day to day. also the service was horrible. the only way to get coffee was from a server and you'd have to go to the kitchen to hunt them down and ask for coffee. and then the coffee was always cold and tasted terrible. this happened every day.
