“Excellent value/location/friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

Mariel Hotel provided a great room and overall service. The staff were bilingual and very helpful, the breakfast was delicious. The location was a short walk to about everything in Miraflores. We would stay in this hotel again with our next visit to Lima. They were also LGBT friendly.

Me and my husband stayed at Mariel for only one night, and it was a good experience. The room was very clean a smell fresh, we stayed at the 6th floor even though the elevator was small and only fitted like 3 people in it, it was not a problem for us we used the stairs a couple times. The room was cozy and comfortable not that big but good for the price. The bathroom was nice, no problems with hot water, wifi was ok. The breakfast was generous, a mix of breads, eggs, juices, and other good things. The staff were really nice and caring and professional. The location was perfect, walking distance to the kennedy park, main commercial streets, restaurants, bars and other turistic points. For my opinion the locaton was not as noisy like other reviews said, Lima and specially Miraflores is a very busy and fast pace city, some people should read demographic information before traveling to south american countries so they don't write unnecessary comments. In overall our stay was good, we were happy, we would stay at Mariel again.

Thanks. WE are glad you like our hotel. You are right about reading some city information before. Miraflores and many Lima downtown districts are kind of noisy, specially in main streets. Thank God we are not in a main street.

Those are the pro's, and the most important things. Also, the staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. I felt like the area was relatively safe and in walking distance to restaurants and shopping.

A couple of things that weren't so great. It was noisy, both coming from inside and outside the hotel. Not really sure it would be any better in any other hotel in the city. We had an early plane to catch and was told there would be an express breakfast, and I guess there was. Rolls and jelly. I wasn't expecting a feast, but something a bit more than that would have been great.

I have just started my stay of 8 days , but , its a good place , people are really sympathetic and attention is really genuine . I arrived at 2 AM , but , all the staff worked overtime to make internet available to me. The rooms are small , but clean , and , very comfortable.

Room Tip: try to get a room as near to lobby as possible for better internet access on wifi.

Stayed here three nights before joining our group to tour Peru. Great location, clean rooms, nice breakfast and huge king size bed (biggest we had on the trip). Would stay here again.

Five minutes to Parque Kennedy and lots little shops and restaurants close by. We walked to Larco Mall a few times to enjoy the ocean views ... worth the 20 minute walk.

Also not to be missed is Barranco ... we took a taxi there (10 soles) and walked back to Miraflores along the cliff-top walkway. Took us about 45 minutes but lovely to be in the neighbourhoods.

Our favourite place for a meal was the Museo Larco (taxi was 10 soles) ... best Pisco Sour and amazing plate of appies. We wish would could just go back to the restaurant!

Stayed here on my own for a couple nights after taking a tour to Machu Picchu and Im so glad I did. Location was great, so close to the markets and restaurants. I felt very safe walking around on my own at night and found the staff very friendly. Breakfest was great, bed was very comfortable and free internet that works!

nice hotel in miraflores heart, walking distance to central park, larcomar, restaurants, just in front handicraft inca market. Location is the main thing here. Clean rooms, friendly staff, we will come back next time. No fancy but in the lobby there are some antique cultural items in the wall. Peru is full of ancient culture. nice people. Some traffic in Lima but here is not an issue, you can walk to anywhere

Room Tip: high floor
