Hacienda Mamacona is noted for breeding Paso horses, but this lovely ranch provided an oasis of calm and civility in the middle of a hectic day. You enter the hacienda through some horse corrals, where you can see a few paso horses up close. Passing through, we were greeted by dancers and instrumentalists, served cold drinks and treated to a show combining folkloric dancing and horsemanship.
Afterward, we were ushered through lush gardens and lawns to the hacienda itself, a rambling structure that exuded hospitality and charm. We were treated to an extensive buffet featuring many local delicacies, accompanied by a selection of local wines.
Dinner was interspersed with more dancing, and afterward willing participants were allowed to ride the paso horses. Hacienda Mamacona provided a relaxing afternoon during an otherwise hectic day.
