“Safe, clean, and great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

We arrived on a late flight to Lima, and wanted to make sure we had a decent and safe place to stay our first night. I made the reservation online, and got an email response within minutes. They arranged a driver to pick us up at the airport, who was there waiting for us when we exited customs (holding a sign with our name). The hotel has a lovely courtyard with lots of plants, cheery decor, is in a very nice and safe neighborhood, and has a locked gate at the entrance. The room was basic, but functional. It was a little chilly with the airy windows and tile floors, but everything was clean and the water hot. Breakfast was basic (bread & marmalade, coffee, juice, and a slice of melon), but did the trick. The staff were friendly and helpful, and let us keep our bags there for several hours after check-out and before our night bus left. Overall, a great pick in Lima!

We had a great streak on this trip of choosing the 'our pick' from Lonely Planet and this one did not disappoint. Located near Kennedy Park in Miraflores on a quiet street, El Patio is a great place to stay. Helpful and friendly staff, nice breakfast, great community seating area, lots and lots of plants. The place has lots of character and everything works. We had room 19 which came with a small kitchenette which was very handy. Easy walk to the beach and short, inexpensive cab ride to the Plaza de Armas. Very nice place to operation out of. We'd go there again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Upstairs away from the street is even quieter.

Good basic clean hostal around pretty gated courtyard. Basic breakfast. We were at front which was noisy in morning with construction across road. Our room had a separate bathroom. But most are en suite I think. Good wifi and friendly staff. 100 sols for a double room but we were also offered a suite at 250 I think.

Room Tip: Back of hostal is quieter

Staff is nice but not solicitous for tips. Rooms are clean and protected in a nice neighborhood. Some rooms for singles are rather small but one can opt for a larger double. It's a small garden hotel which is quiet & inviting. I will always stay here when visiting Lima.

Room Tip: I've stayed here 3 times and always have felt comfortable and safe. The flowers are beautiful an...

This is a really nice place! Good value for money. Nice flowers and plants everywhere. Relaxed vibe. The rooms are just fine. The bathroom was clean, the water was hot. The place is secured by a gate which is always locked, the gate is opened when you ring the bell. The staff is helpfull, friendly and they also spoke English. Breakfast is included, it includes tea or coffee, rolls, butter, jam, and one day we got scrambled eggs, one day we got cheese, also fresh fruit juice. It is in the middle of Miraflores, but we experienced it as a relaxed and quiet place. In general a nice hostal. Good value for money.

Nice simple place in Central Lima. Good location. Smelled a bit musty, but otherwise the rooms were o.k. Could make our own coffee in the rooms. Nice common area to spend time. Friendly staff. Great restaurant just opposite from the Hostal. Breakfast could have been better.

As a hostal, this place gets my high mark! It's a cute place. (Check out the photos). And it is also nice to always have hot water!
Staff: 5 stars. They are very accommodative & helpful.
Room: in absolute term: 3 stars; in relative hostal term: 4-4.5 stars. It is equivalent to the better Motel 6 in the US - Yes, not all motel 6 are equal.
Cleanliness: in absolute term: 3.5 stars; in relative hostal term: 4 stars.
Bathroom (the bathtub door came off because the wheels are bent, easy fix for me): in absolute term: 3.5 stars; in relative hostal term: 4 stars
Bed: in absolute term: 3.5 stars; in relative hostal term: 4 stars
