“Excellent Choice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2011

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights while visiting Lima. The customer service was superb. Perhaps the most attentive staff we have ever encountered. Especially David from the concierge desk. He went out of his way to ensure our stay was splendid. While the window in our room was not fully sealed, allowing for noise, the hotel was nice, clean, and in a great location. Highly recommended based on our stay.

Arriving at the reception expectations were high, the reception is bright, very clean and the staff were friendly, but it seems that's where the hotel modernization/'refurbishment stopped!
Getting out of the lift, the carpets were old and stained in the corridor and the room, they were clean though.
The room was old looking but still nice, could do with curtains that close! Bathroom could do with a refurbishment.
Bed was fantastic..
Breakfast was a let down, the buffet was very poor quality and choice wise, service was not much better..
Come on C.P. this isn't what we expect from your brand.
I have stayed at the Radisson since, hoping the Intercon opens a hotel soon...

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Lima Peru and were amazed by the excellent service. We arrived at the hotel about 1 am and were promptly greeted and had a bellman quickly gather up our luggage. The room was very comfortable, clean and large.

The bellman was also a concierge in training. His name was David and he did an excellent job of informing us and helping us both that evening and subsequent to then. My wife is African-American and and had read on the internet that there was a lot of discrimination against black people in Peru (Isn't true!). Anyway, David explained that the Peruvian Culture Minister was of African descent and that she was a beloved singer. He said several other things that eased her mind, and then told her that she would be an "African Queen". Anyway, he was very sweet and thoughtful.

The included breakfast was very good and even artistically presented.

A second concierge, Elias, also went above and beyond by helping with a number of difficult actions sorting out some reservations which I had made over the internet.

The staff which worked directly with the guests all spoke good (to very good) English. All were courteous and kind.

The ONLY fault with the hotel is that it is in a downtown area and the windows are not double paned. So, the high level of car horns honking on the busy street could be troublesome. However, ear plugs solved that issue nicely. Highly recommended!

The location of the hotel is good; close to the center with many restaurants and shops around. The area is safe. The beach is not far just 15 min walking. You need more then 30 min to get at the airport
Rooms are clean even if a bit noisy.
People at the reception is friendly. Breakfast is good.
The price of the room is in line with the hotel quality.

This hotel bills itself as a 5 star, but it is actually a good 3 star hotel, nothing more than that. It's an old property (I am going to guess about a 20 to 25 year old building) that has been "very lightly" renovated to qualify as a Crowne Plaza. "Very lightly renovated" means a coat of paint, not much more than that.

Rooms are very noisy because the hotel is located at a busy intersection, and the windows in the rooms are only single-glazed, and do not have any form of seals around the operating portion of the window. This is a most serious problem and my biggest criticism of the hotel. The windows are from the original construction of the hotel years ago.

I showed up for breakfast at 10:00 AM (breakfast ends at 10:30), and the buffet was thoroughly picked over, with only remnants remaining - no orange juice left, no sweet pastries left, the waiter poured me coffee from the dregs of 3 different carafes. The experience was more like showing up at the end of free breakfast at a Day's Inn than anything that one would expect from a '5 star' hotel.

This hotel is not sparkling clean. It's not obviously dirty, but there is no great level of attention to making sure things are ship-shape. The arm on the chair in my room was very loose, I had to tighten it myself with a Swiss Army Knife.

The staff are courteous and helpful.

So, all in all, it is a decent 3 star that is priced like a 5 star, but by no means is it a 4 or 5 star hotel. I am sure better lodging could be found for the same price elsewhere. I will not return.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2011

My husband and | just finished a three night stay at this very nice hotel. It has a great location and we walked to many attractions in Miraflores. There is an included buffet breakfast with omelets to order each morning which is a nice way to start the day. The staff were very helpful in arranging tours and making restaurant reservations. We had a city view suite on a side street and it was a little noisy in the morning but we have earplugs so it was fine. The hotel allowed us to use the facilities . gym and pool, after we checked out and were waiting for our late night flight home.
If bottled water would have been provided each day and if English language newspapers were available, I would rate this hotel as five star rather than four.

I recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

This hotel is located in the Miraflores area, one block off the busy Avenue Larco, and has easy access to cafes, shops and supermarkets. It is walking distance to Larcomar, Indian Market and Astrid y Gaston. A short taxi ride will take you to many other famous restaurants in Lima. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is free high speed wifi in both the room and hotel lobby. But the room is, despite of its large size, dated. The air conditioner is noisy and you can hear traffic on the street. The restaurant in the hotel is overpriced.
