My husband and I stayed at the Antigua on our first and last night in Lima. The hotel is very nice and quite gracious. A cut above hotels in this category in a large city such as Lima. And, Miraflores is definitely the best place to stay in Lima. Keep in mind , however, that it is appx. 40 minutes from the airport during busy traffic times. The hotel had sent a drive to meet us at the airport which was a welcome sight after our long flight and the long wait for our baggage. Our first surprise, however, was that the hotel was completley dark when we arrived at about 12:30 am. It seems that they were having a power failure ! tThey gave us candles and we were shown to our room. All was well the next morning, however, and we enjoyed our breakfast in their lovely breakfast room. Guests can order from the 1st 5 items on the menu which include eggs, bacon, tamales, or corn pancakes. Our room on both occasions was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The internet service was included. On our return back to the States, we stayed there again. Checked out at noon and spent a good part of that day at the hotel waiting to leave for our flight at 12:00am the next day. The staff are very welcoming . I suggest this hotel as a good option in Lima.
