“Well Appointed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

Situated close to main avenue, Offering car pickup and drop off at airport means no getting lost. Believe me this is a relief. We were there (spouse business me holidaying) for 8 days. Close to coffee shops, some good eateries and supermarket for daily essentials. All hotel staff very obliging. Renovating during our stay and would like to see the changes. Dining was well catered for both breakfast and dinner. Nice to use piano bar which was relaxing although as it was just above main restaurant, the noise level when the folk dance show was on, became impossible. Think the hotel was the main centre for this enthusiastic group, so not easy to get away from. Every night almost. Our room was quite sufficient, but street noise was pretty constant with car alarms and horns the annoying part! WiFi very slow mostly and connections spasmodic. Would stay again if in Lima.

Room Tip: Light sleepers may needs earplugs

I'm torn on how to rate this hotel since the service was wonderful but the hotel room was out of date and looked nothing like the internet. I'm not sure if all of the rooms have been updated now but when I was there there were still old looking rooms. I used their drivers a number of times when I was at the hotel and they get 5 stars!

Spent 2 nights at the hotel before our trip to Macchu Picchu. The hotel is in a very nice part of town, with many good restaurants within walking distance. Everyone at the hotel from the front desk staff to the bellmen to the concierge went out of their way to help us with all of our needs, they even stored some suitcases we did not want to take to Macchu Picchu and let us pick them up a week later.

Back to an old trusted hotel in Lima, Peru. The El Pardo on my last visit in the early spring was in the final stages of renovation, well there almost done, just a few more minor changes in the lobby etc... No inconveniences at all to guests. The pick up at the airport was flawless as always, the front desk was ready for me on my arrival, warm cookie as always, and this was close to mid-night. Always a clean well appointed room, free Internet which has been upgraded but is still slow from time to time uploading and downloading emails. In the morning when in the Lobby greated by the Chief Concierge, Vilko, a better friend any traveler ciuld ever ask for in any hotel, advice, travel assistance, he is 100% there for the guest. Morning breakfaste buffet and made to order eggs, omelets are a welcome touch. In the evening in Junius Resturant there is an evening buffet with a wide variet of choices, expensive on its own, but a live Folklore Show, music, Peruvian dances etc is thrown in, the show by itself is worth the price by itself. Anyone coming to Lima must look at and stay at this hotel. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: No bad choices

I was amazed the hotel was so nice! It has a very nice lobby (although it was under renovation while I was there) and has a very nice location in Lima. The free breakfast was surprisingly good. This was a very nice hotel but it had a few problems. The wifi was poor, the windows were thin (I was on the 11th floor and the street noise still plagued my ears), and there was a lack of computers in the business center.

However; if you want a nice hotel to stay in Lima, I would still recommend this one if you do not mind a few downsides.

Good service, nice comfortable rooms. Is standard quality expected of a chain, lacking in character but perfectly sufficient in comfort and service. Stayed in a suite on our first visit and standard room the second, suite had ample space but not really necessary. Would stay again.

This hotel is located in a very good area of Miraflores, near the park and several shopping areas and restaurants...all within walking distance. There is even a small slot machine casino adjacent to the hotel if you are inclined. The room are nice, the bedding comfortable, and the AC wonderful. The only downside is that there are remodeling the hotel so there is a tremendous amount of noise during the workdays! Definitely worth a stay if the price is right. All hotels in Lima are expensive so expect to pay more than you usually would for Doubletree Hotel.
