“Do not stay here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2011

I strongly encourage you to find somewhere else to stay. Me and my wife booked this hostel with 3 months advanced notice. Came in the day we were supposed to stay with the email confirmation and they told us they lost our reservation. Not only this but they were full and had no room for us to stay, so we were without a hotel for the night. They also refused to refund our deposit that they had charged our card for the room. So not only did they lose our reservation but also took our money without giving us a place to stay. Do not let this happen to you, Book somewhere else in Lima to stay.

If you want to sleep or use the internet, I wouldn't recommend Pariwana. We tried to use the wifi in our room, but it was nonexistent. And our room was about 10 feet from the location with the strongest signal: the welcome desk. But no. Still no internet.

Also that night, we went to sleep around 11 for an early morning flight. At 12:30 I woke up to the sound of noise and movement in the upstairs bar, sounding like someone trying to hammer a nail into the wall. I asked the desk attendant when the noise would quiet down, and he said he would take care of it. At 1:40 it was still going on. I asked again, and again the attendant said he'd take care of it. Finally around 2:30 it started to get quiet. It felt awesome waking up for our early morning flight.

We loved the hostel. the common areas are great, the bar is really cool and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
The staff are very helpful.
The only problem is as in most hostels with a cool bar, the noise. The music keeps going tll 2:30 am so you'd better join them or you'll find it hard to sleep.
It's in a very busy area, very centrally located so expect to hear lots of cars at night too.
Besides the noise I would recommend the place specially to people who love to party.

Great place, friendly staff, travel agency in hostel helpful and same price as others in town. Very clean, big bar and terrace to relax and drink. Free breakfast as well as extras that can be paid for, fruit salad is great! Right bang in middle of Miraflores and 2 blocks from Lima Metro mean super easy getting into historical city centre

Stayed here for 2 nights. This was the first time staying at a hostel for me, so was not sure what to expect. The room we were given at first was right next to the busy street, and was not what I expected. The room looked old and had an unpleasant smell.
We asked for another room, and this time the room was much better. No frills, clean bed, attached bathroom. Pretty ok for the price we paid. What I really liked about this place is the central location. It is bang in the center of Miraflores. There is a busy supermarket close to it, a good local produce market, we walked to the beach. Also right next to the Parque de Kennedy, from where you can take the Mirabus city tour.
Overall, I would say go for it if you don't care too much for a hostel atmosphere. There were lots of young kids in this hostel, it seemed pretty busy. Their breakfast is just bread, butter and jam. So careful if you are expecting a continental serving of juices, cakes and cereals.
Good location and ok price.

The Pariwana Hostel in Lima is a great place to stay with friendly and helpful staff. In the heart of Miraflores and near to lots of great shops, the Larco Mar shopping centre and lots of restaurants. Well worth staying here.
