“without the view of the bay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2012

Currently this hotel is having extensions built out the back which are noisy between 8am and 6pm.
The rooms had a nice layout, but the carpet needs to be changed since it gives a slightly damp feel and smells a bit. Possibly from the eternal Pacific Ocean mist coming in.
The breakfast was very basic and some of the ham and bread was a little old.
We were staying 2 nights but extended it to 3 due to a flight change. The room we changed to had no balcony and a softer (not as nice) bed. We were charged the same rate for it which was a bit disappointing.
Otherwise everything else was fine.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a balcony. Free giant rocking chair included :)

We arrived at the hotel at 11pm, so it was great that they easily found our reservation. They gave us a coupon for 2 complimentary Pisco sours at the bar which was nice. The little bar downstairs seems to be popular with locals (fun, but not crowded at all.) It's also the location for breakfast which was basic -- coffee, juice, cold ham, cheese, bread, butter, and jam. Our room had a balcony on the street which would be a nice place to relax and read the paper. The location is the hotel's best point. On a fairly quiet street--- just 2 blocks from the ocean and the Larcomar shopping/dining complex. Go the other direction and you are in the Miraflores shopping district. Walk to Parque JFK and you can take a 3-hour tour bus trip of Miraflores and Central Lima which is really too far to walk. Don't miss the "Circuito Magico del Agua - Parque de la Reserva" (Magic Circuit of Water). It is a LOVELY park featuring spectacular fountains that are choreographed to classical music (and lights if you go at night). It costs less that 2 dollars to get in. Not in a touristed area, so we enjoyed being the only gringos there !!!

Get all the convenience and amenities of the Marriott Hotel for a fraction of the price. Located in tourism friendly Miraflores with the shopping and restaurant abundant Larcomar right out your front door.

Room Tip: both rooms we stayed in had 2 single beds. If you'd like to share a bed with your travelling co...

Bayview hotel is an older hotel in the Miraflores district of lima. They have a bar/restaurant, 2 blocks from the ocean viewpoints, and is in a decent area of the city. Comes with breakfast.

Good:
Cheap, friendly staff, good location, have a nice courtyard complete with turtle.

Bad:
hot water is not guaranteed, a bit loud, breakfast is underwhelming

Room Tip: Higher rooms seemed to have the best hot water.

my room faced an inner courtyard but was on the second floor. The balcony door could not be locked, so if you are concerned about safety this is an issue. The shower water temp would not get past tepid. and there was no heat in the room. In short I think you could do better. I was just in and out, so I wasn't able to capitalize on the location.

Paid $80.00 US for a room. The hotel's location is excellent (just over the street from the JW Marriot). Quiet neighbourhood. Clean hotel, no frills, good value for money, good internet... English speaking staff. Breakfast not great but not bad. Comfy beds, cheap mini-bar... clean, safe, does what it says on the tin for 80 bucks....

Even though hotel is just a block away from Larcomar shopping center, is the only attraction nearby. Our room was facing a central patio, which was quiet, but the guests on the same floor keep going in an out the whooole night...I couldn't sleep. I guess that's the price for staying at a 'three stars' hotel. As mentioned by another member on this page, water at the shower was not hot. Better pay a little bit more and stay at a centrally located hotel. Wireless internet signal didn't work in the room, had to go to the cafeteria.
