“One of our office & friends favorites!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

Canta Rana is one of our favorites for a Friday lunch with the office or on Saturdays afternoon with friends. It offers excellent food with reasonable prices in a relaxed local setting. You can't go wrong with the ceviche and chicharron, or much anything else on the menu. Similar to other popular places in Lima specializing in ceviche and seafood, weekends for lunch can involve a bit of a wait, but well worth it!

“Fine Dining Fantastic Food Fair Prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

Canta Rana provides for a fine dining experience in an intimate setting for a reasonable sum. The restaurant is set in a quaint clapboard house on Fruitville. The unassuming outer appearance gives way to surprisingly elegant, intimate candle lit, black tablecloth environs. The food is delicious, and the chef will make small adjustments according to taste. The food selection is pleasantly large for such a small restaurant, and while the wine choices are limited, there should be something suitable for most tastes. The service is impeccable. The night my wife and I went Bill was providing superb vintage music from the 60's and 70's. We enjoyed an excellent experience.

“Wonderful ceviche”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

A really good restaurant providing reasonably priced excellent food. Good atmosphere populated by locals as well as tourists. The interior has been well described already by many others so no point in repeating what has already been said.

“Fun, fun, fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

We love heading to this Baranco neighborhood cebiche joint! We go for the atmosphere and the great seafood. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Just yesterday we had the ceviche mixto, causa de cangrejo and tacu tacu con picante de mariscos. All were winners again. The interior is very eclectic, with futbol jerseys and posters covering the wall alongside old blue eyes. On the weekend, get there before 1 pm or you may be in line for a while. Buen provecho!

“Wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

We had a little bit of a hard time finding this place, but were thrilled that we did. It's casual, with lots of eclectic sports memorabilia and other personal (to the owner?) souvenirs on the walls.
We eat had a huge plate of ceviche (one of plain fish and the other of mixed seafood), which was served with a thick slice of sweet potato and some of the large corn kernels. We also ordered a completely unnecessary, but very delicious, serving of the fish fried rice to share. We had local beer (Cusquena is better than Cristal, in our opinion, after trying both here) to accompany our delightful meal and were given great service by the waiter.
