“good food, great owner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2014

The food was pretty good, but what impressed me was how helpful and friendly the owner was. He really helped me figure out how to spend my time in Iquitos when a cruise fell through. It's definitely very Western (not an authentic Peruvian place), but I'm not fluent in Spanish so it was nice to meet someone knowledgable who could tell me what I needed to know. There's lots of local places, but Dawn on the Amazon Cafe is still worth a quick stop for a smoothie, WiFi access, or get some travel tips from the owner.

“Execellent!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014 via mobile

I visit Iquitos fairly often. This is a great place to eat. The food quality is excellent. No MSG. No chemicals. Many fresh ingredients. The menu is varied. Something for everyone. Different cuisines. The restaurant's owner, Bill, is just a good ol' boy from Indiana. This is a wonderful place to eat and the view is tremendous. The only thing to look out for...don't order a meal if you are in a hurry.

Amazing selection of food that was well-prepared. The service was great. This place was a refuge in such a challenging environment.

“Great food, extensive menu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

We ate here at least once a day while in Iquitos! Being one of the only places that caters to gringos, it was a relaxing place for us as we barely speak Spanish. The menu was extensive and I always struggled to make a decision. We had the pancakes for breakfast twice in a row, and I have to say they were the best pancakes I've ever had in my life. Super fluffy, and topped with caramel and banana. The waitress brought over passionfruit marmalade, local honey, butter and orange juice mixed with honey. Easily the most memorable and delicious breakfast I've had in a while. :)

Great hygiene standards, fast and cordial service, yummy food and a great view of the river. Should not be missed!
