We had only two nights at this great place, I wish we had a week. Lovely, clean, great food, fabulous rooms, I can't say enough! Staff were always happy to help.

Highly recommend this place and would come back again.

On our Peru tour, we opted for the premium hotel package, and our Cusco option was the Inkaterra Casona, an eleven-room boutique hotel. I don't think I would have ever intentionally chosen to stay at a hotel this small: I like "nice'" but I also like some anonymity. However, the Inkaterra pulled off the surprising task of delivering customized service without ever being intrusive. This hotel is a renovated colonial house. The decor is rustico, and each room has unique pieces.
A word about the restaurant. We ate there twice owing to a combination of the local best restaurants already being booked and a general level fatigue, (caused by traveling from sea level to 11,000'). Each night, we had the small restaurant to ourselves. The food was fabulous, and the servers were impeccably discreet and perfect. They each possessed that rare knack of knowing when to engage and when to melt into the background. We sampled various Peruvian dishes, and everything was a home-run. Our son tried and enjoyed the cuy (guinea pig), which I couldn't bring myself to do. I had, and enjoyed, the alpaca, and also enjoyed the various soup and salad offerings. The bread basket was not to be missed, and the wine list was sufficient and well-notated (some wines had Wine Spectator scores).

Very romantic setting with top notch service. Not ONE single complaint. EVERYTHING was perfect. If you want small, quite and romantic then look no further. Leave the kids at home and enjoy the peace and quiet. Stayed 3 nights, went to Machu Picchu and returned for 1 more night in the suite which was fantastic!

Room Tip: The suite is magnificent if it is available

This place is simply beautiful, an old colonial mansion that retain its historical interest but with modern amenities, I can't say enough about this place and its staff. Andrea in particular went above and beyond to help us with loading photos we needed, and answering many questions. The rooms are gorgeous and the courtyard gives the place a feeling of serenity. Afternoon tea, with fresh baked breads and cookies, was a respite after abusy day exploring. Don't know when we will ever get back to Cusco but would stay here again if we could in a heartbeat. My husband pines for this hotel.

Room Tip: They are only 11 rooms and I think any would be good.

Wow! What a great hotel! We had three great days enjoying their outstanding service, great room, and fantastic location. Just one indication of how attentive they are: when we told them we had to leave at 4am for our Inka Trail hike, they suggested that they make coffee and pack us breakfast boxes to go.

La Casona is located on a beautiful small plaza just 2 short blocks from the Plaza Des Armas in Cusco. It is in an exclusive colonial mansion built around a quiet and picturesque courtyard. Although in the center of a bustling town it is perfectly quiet inside its' walls. There are only 11 suites in this hotel and we stayed in room 2 , opening onto the courtyard. Our Room had a small table and chairs and sofa as well as a large king size bed. It also had one of the most opulent bath I have ever seen-even having a claw foot tub. The floors were beautiful wood and were heated. We had a comfy fireplace as well. It was a nice surprise to find hot water bottles on both sides of our bed when we arrived back from dinner. Although we chose to eat in the town we did have 2 wonderful breakfasts in the dining room. It was such a special place-you just felt so pampered! One thing to note-the huge wood front door is kept lock, you just knock when you want to enter and a doorman is immediately there! One of numerable nice touches. Would highly recommend if you like to feel like royalty.

Room Tip: I really don't think there's a bad suite in the place. Just take you chances and enjoy.

A small group of us just returned from a magical two week adventure in Peru and as luck would have it a couple of us were fortunate enough to choose Inkaterra La Casona in Cusco as our rest stop on the way to Machu Picchu. I do not usually write reviews but it would be remise of me not to at least send a public message congratulating the Management and Staff at Inkaterra La Casona on their amazing little property. I have to admit that it was indeed a pleasant surprise and great treat to spend two wonderful nights there, after staying at some sad hotels along the way. The attention to detail, in every area and the quiet oasis created within their walls, reflected the passion and dedication of the owner and team. Well done, keep up the passion to be the best!

Room Tip: I think any room would be great!
