“One of a Kind”

This hotel is just amazing and it offers great service! The people who work here are very kind and caring. When we stayed here they were always asking if we needed anything and if we were comfortable! When we needed any help they would be there without any hesitations... like in other places! Every time we would go out and explore the city we would come back to a clean and organized room... which was extremely nice!!! It is very close to the main center (Plaza de Armas), which was also extremely convenient because we could walk there any time of the day! The hotel is secure and the rooms are a good size. We also had a TV and wifi. I highly recommend this place if you go to Cusco!!!!!!

Totally recommended!!! It´s the best hospitality i´ve ever had in a hotel. It´s a simple one but the treatment i´ve had there was a 5 star hotel. The owners are very polite, friendly and worried about your comfort. The localitation is excelent (13 minutos walk to plaza de armas). It´s cleaned and the hot shower works perfectly. The owner made me a true pisco sour!

I stayed here for 3 night whilst me and my boyfriend celebrated NYE in Cusco.

The hotel itself is nice. Our room was lovely-big, comfy bed, clean and they offer a complimentary heater which is ideal for those chilly nights.

It's in a good location too, just a couple of blocks from the main square. And on a main road so you don't feel like you're walking down a dark alleyway to get back.

Overall it's a good place to stay, the only issue is the service-it's pretty terrible. The man that seems to run the hotel is a guy called Juan. He's absolutely lovely-very friendly-but has no idea how to run a hotel. The front doors would be locked pretty much all day so when you come back after lunch or dinner you have to ring the doorbell and wait about 10 mins for someone to unlock it.

There's rarely any hot water. I tried to have a shower early and mid morning and it was freezing cold. We spoke to other ppl in the hotel and they had the same problem. When we asked at reception we were simply told that it's because other ppl had used it up and we would have to wait for an hr or so. 2 out of 3 times we had to have cold showers-not ideal when it's so cold outside too!

Breakfast is also a no go. We only had it once, it took 45 mins for us to be given our drinks and when the food arrived it was the wrong order. When we finally got what we wanted we had to ask for cups for our coffee and forks to eat our eggs. All in all it was a painful experience!

The hotel is accetptable and quite close to Cuzco main square, but the service of this hotel is very bad. The owner is getting very old and this affects the service he can offer.

The breakfast is terrible. Only an old piece of bread and some marmelade.

We made a phone call to Lima (1 minute) and they charged us 4 times more than what we paid in a call-shop in the same street.

When we arrived we said the next morning we would have like to have breakfast quite early and go out for a walk, as we had to leave Cuzco at 8.00 am. The breakfast was due from 6.00 to 10.00. We arrived to the breakfast room at 6.30 and nobody was there, and...no breakfast served. So we tried to get out to have a walk first and...the hotel was locked and nobody answered us! We had to wait half an hour before the old owner got up and opened the door!!!!

Awful experience, I strongly don't recommend this hotel!

A very nice budget option with an amazing, home - like atmosphere.. They treated me as if I were their child, offered assistance and made me feel very safe and welcome. I have stayed in ShangriLas, Marriots, RitzCarltons and Sofitels all over the world, but nowhere I felt as welcome and trated as a royalty. And they have the cleanest sheets and towels ever. Trying their coffee is a must! It is strong and dark as a devil!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2008

I read a review a couple months ago and decided to stay here. I talked to the owner don Juan and he arranged my stay in his hotel.
A couple weeks before I decided to go, he arranged my tour for me and my wife for 4 days/3nights, it was $720.00 total (everything included). I thought it was a pretty good price.
The stayed was average, the room was clean, service was neat, overall was pretty good.

BAD THINGS: No hot water in the morning, have to ring the bell to get in (which it means your stuff is safe).

GOOD THINGS: They pick you up and drop you off at the airport, they arrange all tours (City Tour, Sacred Valley and Machupicchu) and you dont have to worry about anything (only dinner)....I will stay here again.

If you are not picky about small stuff, this is a really good hotel. DONT EXPECT a FIVE STAR HOTEL.....This is a descent, family owned hostel.

If you happen to find yourself in the wonderful Inca city of Cusco Peru then the Hotel Casablanca is the place to stay. It has excellent sinlge, double and triple rooms that are very cozy and reasonably priced. The hotel staff are incredibly helpful and professional. One very important factor in favour of the Hotel Casablanca is the location. It is just a few blocks away from the main square and perhaps very crucially away from the main sellers, selling their wares which can get a trifle tiresome at times.
