Searching for a delicious dining spot that’s centrally located but affords some quiet and privacy?
Don’t miss Aroma, an oasis nestled within the Sacred Plants Museum. The entrance to Aroma is lined with plants and owners Erik and Edith offer extraordinary, healthy set menu specials each day.
When I visited, I had a typical Cusquenian salad of carrots, onion, seaweed, tofu and cilantro as a starter, and a main dish of quinoa tabbouleh topped with crispy boneless chicken cutlets crusted with black quinoa in an elderberry sauce. Finally, in keeping with the Sacred Plants theme, a delicious herbal tea of chamomile, oregano and yerba buena accompanied the meal. As if the meal, location and hospitality of the hosts was not enough of a draw, all this was offered for 15 soles, a remarkable value for the high caliber of the food and experience.
Aroma is open from 9 am – 6 pm Monday- Saturday and entrance to the Museum (while highly recommended) is not required to visit the restaurant.
