I stayed here back in late June/early July, before and after completing the trek to Macchu Pichu. The hostel is quiet, situated away from busy streets, but conveniently located. The staff were very friendly, looking after my bags while I went to MP, helping with taxis etc, and they keep the place super clean. The bed was the most comfortable I had during my travels, and the shower was excellent. Highly recommended as a base for a trip to Cusco, particularly if you want a decent night's sleep. I would definitely go back - thank you for an excellent few nights.

We spent a total of 5 nights at Los Aticos. The room was comfy, hot water plentiful. The breakfast was good and the ability to use the kitchen and refrigerator is a big plus. The wifi worked well in the room. The location on a quiet side street a few minutes walk from the Plaza is a big plus. Most of all, the staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. I would heartily recommend this hotel to travelers who don't need luxury but appreciate quality and service.

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 teenage sons & all slept really well. We were able to check in early & leave our bags while we went to Machu Picchu. Lots of room. Had kitchen area in apartment but no cooking facilities or crockery so we couldn't have cooked. Saying that the staff were happy for us to use the communal kitchen in the breakfast area. Breakfast was cereal, bread, ham & cheese & jam

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights when we visited Cuzco and Macchu Picchu. The hotel provided free pick-up service from the airport which was very welcomed and the journey took just about 7 minutes. Upon arrival at 9 a.m., we were glad to see that the check-out time was 8 a.m. and we could check into our room immediately for a good rest. We were also being offered coca tea during registration. We requested for a room on ground floor in order to avoid risk of altitude sickness as a result of too much motion. This room happened to be just opposite the kitchen/restaurant area and could be a bit noisy. However, as we had to leave at 5.30 a.m. for the two consecutive days, the noise did not bother us too much. Also because of this reason, we did not have a chance to try out their breakfast. The receptionist also assured us availability of oxygen tank in case we suffered from altitude sickness. Although the night shift guy did not speak any English, he was exceptionally kind and helpful and we managed to communicate using body language. There was free WiFi as well as two computers for guests use in the reception area. The TV had many channels – CNN, CCTV, NHK, BBC and Discovery Channel.

Location of the hotel was just two blocks away from the Plaza de Armas. There were many money changers, travel agencies, souvenir shops in the square and a mini-market nearby. There were also pharmacies nearby where one could get a small bottle of oxygen supplies at US$10 each.

On our departure, we hired a public taxi to the airport which only cost 10 Soles (US$4) versus hotel transportation of US$10.

My best friend and I selected Los Aticos for its convenient, central location and its price. We therefore didn't have high expectations for anything else as we're not picky. Los Aticos blew us away - it was incredibly safe, warm, hospitable, and the beds are SO soft. We stayed for 2 nights before we hiked the Inca Trail and couldn't wait to come back and stay when we returned to Cusco. We came in upon our return and sighed, saying "we're home!" because that's exactly how you feel. With free WiFi and breakfast - we were so excited. It's a 2 minute walk to the center square and is surrounded by great restaurants. We saw Maria cleaning the place all day long as we came and went - everything is spotless and they take great pride in keeping Los Aticos impeccable. Edgar went out of his way to help us call our husbands using calling cards that were in Spanish. They stored our luggage for us before the trek and it was safe and sound when we got back. Lastly, they let us leave our luggage with them after we checked out and then come back and use an open shower/bathroom before our flight. They also negotiated a good price for a taxi to the airport and carried our luggage out for us. We love them and would HIGHLY recommend this place to everything. We would definitely stay again.

I suspect other rooms are better, but the apartment we were given was more cramped with all beds on the top level (and surely not meant for 5 as advertised - even with 3 adults and a baby we felt cramped). One bed had a window immediately at baby-hands level and big enough to fall through - obviously only an issue for a certain age, but together with what we felt a rather baby-unfriendly open stair railing, this was not a room for a young toddler at all.
For the first time of many occasions using tripadvisor ratings, I was disappointed and felt a bit misled by overall ratings. Apart from the baby-issues the entire room looked quite run-down, the towels were damp and old that one couldn´t help wondering if they were washed (in fact we saw other much better towels down-stairs, so we were probably just unlucky). On top of everything a previous guest had apparently left with the key. Anyway, after several hours deciding, we move to another hotel, rather than stay.
This is hostel level, and assuming the other rooms are better probably good enough for those on a budget (as the price is good), but I feel its positive reviews mislead a bit.
On the positive side: The airport transfer was good though, and to their credit the friendly staff made no fuss when we told them our reasons for moving out in spite of an online booking (understandably charging the first night - since we had occupied the room for several hours while deciding what to do over lunch)

Many thanks for your report. Even though your experience was not as expected, we find your comments helpful to improve our service, and on the other hand to focus on the needs of a family traveling with small children.
We regret that our personnel did not manage to understand your requirements, since we have a large sofa bed in the lower floor that would have helped you feel more comfortable. We also regret the delay installing the requested cradle.
As you know the policy with most booking companies includes a non-refundable payment for the first night. However we will be happy to send your money back as a compensation for the inconvenience.
