“We loved this hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

We loved all about Cusco, and specially this hotel. We had a very good price, and a lovely room. We really liked the fact that we had free transportation from and to the airport, which is great, because gives you more safety. Lovely place, very quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful, specially the waiter on the breakfast table. He was very nice, always with a smile in his face, even at 5:30 AM. The girls on the reception were also so helpful. They also kept our luggage during our stay on Machu Picchu and when we arrived they are just in place, in the same bedroom, just waiting for us. Very cosy. We loved and we will recommend to our friends.

Dear Ana,
Thank you very much for your nice review. I'm very happy that you appreciated our pick up service at the airport. The idea is exactly as you mention it: provide greater safety and confidence to our guest.
I will transmit and congratulate our restaurant server as well as the girls at the front desk.
Take care of yourself.

We visited Cusco in the low season (end of Feb) and recieved the room for half the regular price. This hotel for now 45 US Dollars, was an absolute bargan. The hotel is perfectly located, quiet street but very central. It looked beautiful, nicely decorated, very nice bed and blankets. We had a nice balcony. Really nice. The staff was professional, friendly and helpfull and the breakfast was diverse and excellent. They facilitated a computer with free use of internet and were willing to stash our luggage during our 4 days at the Inca trail for free. We were very satisfied and would recommend this hotel.

Overall we were very pleased with the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, no matter what time we needed their help, the staff was there with a smile on their faces. This was especially true when we had to be out of the hotel at 6:30am for our inca trail.

The room for three was large and easily comfortable for the number of people. We (my wife and I) on the other hand had a double bed. The room was spacious and comfortable. The location of the hotel is very convenient, there are plenty of restaurants, laundry and convenient stores.

Not being nit picky but some areas which people might find helpful is: the hot water for the showers. The hot water on day 1 wasn't working properly, but once we made them aware of this issue, the resolved it in 30 min. Even after fixing the issue, the shower needs to be left open for 2-3 min before it would be warm. The ventilation in the rooms (if not facing a balcony) is poor and can cause the room to get stuffy. The other main consideration for people is the number of stairs, the place is only 3 floors and doesn't have lifts, so carrying your luggage three floors can be a tasks especially if you are less mobile. Having said this, its perfect way to get used to cusco and the altitude :)

so yeah hopefully this review is helpful and if you are reading this keep in mind, this was our experience from our visit...

Room Tip: if you get the chance, ask for a balcony room and a room on the second floor.

Dear Reviewer,
Thank you for taking the time to write this review.
In effect, it happens that the water has already cooled in the pipes and it need a few minutes to the warm water to reach your room.
If you wish to have a balcony, don't hesitate to let us know, so we can block the room for you.
We were very happy with your visit and hope to welcome you again.
Have a nice week end.

Cusco is a very beautiful city, and I'm so glad we stayed at this hotel. The staff was very helpful and spoke English, and it was great to have free transport to and from the airport (our taxi driver was also incredibly nice). The rooms are comfortable, clean and pretty, with pleasant views, and while the hotel might not be right in the center of the action, it was quiet and easy to walk everywhere I wanted to go--although the taxis are cheap enough that I don't think it would have been a problem to do that either. The free breakfast was also very delicious and the waiter was extremely nice and hospitable. I think it is a good value for the price and would certainly recommend it to others.

I am a repeat visitor to Cuzco and have stayed in Los Apus many times, from one night to one week. Right now I am here for six weeks! The hotel is very well located just off Choquechaca Street, which is the lowest street of historic colonial San Blas, thus one doesn't have to hike up steep streets to reach the hotel. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are bright and spacious. The beds are very good and the pillows are down and wonderful. There is always hot water. Breakfast, which is included in the rate, is especially generous by comparison to other hotels. The staff is absolutely superb. The hotel is also very safe with a tightly controlled glass enclosure entrance. It is quiet. I have recommended this hotel to many colleagues and they have always been satisfied.

Room Tip: My only advice is not to choose a room on the ground level just because it is ground level.

We stayed here for 2 nights before our Inca Trek and then again 1 night after. Hotel staff was lovely - gentle and very accomodating. Rooms were clean, fresh and tidy. Breakfast was okay. Great location - quiet side street but only a 5 to 10 minute walk to the main square. Rooms with an outside window are best for light and fresh air. One caveat - we stayed in room 301 which has a gorgeous balcony with a great view however while we were out on New Years Eve someone took the opportunity to break into our room from that balcony. The balcony door is secured only with a small latch. Thankfully nothing was taken but it certainly gave us a scare.

Charming rooms and public spaces. Very helpful staff. Good location in historic center. Rooms with a window facing the outside are very good. Those with windows that face passageways or the reception area are dark, with no air movement --- like staying in a well-appointed closet.
