“charming place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2010

This charming hotel is quite close to the main attractions. You can see that owner took care to maintain the facilities - hotel room as well as the public areas are nicely decorated. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They also provide hot water and tea and coca leaves all the time so you have access to them to help you with any altitude problem. They provide a nice breakfast with eggs cooked to order.

Reasonable choice for Cusco. Value is o.k. at about $90 USD, but maybe a little on the high side for Cusco. Some rooms bigger than others. Nice courtyard, very good breakfast, 5 out of 5 for their great service and clean. Doorway does not look that special despite the insistence in advertising that it is a main attraction. Wireless in the room never worked. They do have a business center with internet service but apparently you are supposed to get the wireless in your room. Not me. I'd stay there for quaint courtyards, clean rooms, good service and breakfast.

This place is a gem. The desk staff was courteous and helpful, the location is superb, and the room comfortable.....shower in our room was to die for! Room had a great little minibar and safe as well as cable TV.

The breakfast was very great with an assortment of fresh fruits, fresh juices, breads, rolls, cheeses and bacon. They will cook up some eggs for you on request.

We stayed for two days on our way to MP and then returned for one evening. They held our bags and would not let us pay the bill until we returned. Trusting!

Don't pass this place up if you are headed to Cucso.

Our only complaint is that early in the morning, unconsiderate customers scream in the courtyard on their way to MP or the airport. I guess they figure they are the only one staying at the hotel?

This lovely hotel about 10 minutes walk from the Plaza de Armas has got to be the best hotel in Cuzco. The stonework and fountains as well as all the details in the rooms and the lounge and dining areas have an authentic Peruvian feel and a lot of attention is given to having everything clean, orderly and welcoming. The staff couldn't be more friendly or more helpful at any hour of the day or night, and the location is ideal - halfway between the plaza and the great San Blas artesan shops.

Can't recommend Rumi Punku highly enough.

While not in the centre of evrything it is only a 5 min walk from the main square. Has a great breakfast and the beds are just what you need after spending a day walling around at the high altitude.

The hotel sent a car (no charge) to pick us up at the airport. They gave us breakfast before checking in. Every employee went out of their way to help answer every question and resolve any concerns we expressed. The rooms are very clean, have hot water and extra pillows and blankets. The breakfast is awesome, lots of fresh fruit, yorgurt, cereal, and beverages choices. They stored our bags while treked the Ikca trail and when we arrived back 4 days later (at 2am) they had our room ready and waiting for us. The Rumi Punku was a great hotel for us.

The pleasant staff perhaps makes up for the uninspired room and the limited breakfast. They are very accomodating and were great for getting me a taxi when I needed it.

And, the fresh fruit and quinoa make up for the processed ham and cheese slices at breakfast. If one asks, one can even get an egg or two.

The location of the hotel is fine, not in the middle of things but close by to the charming Plaza Nazarenas and just up the road from two vegetarian restaurants and "jack's."
