“Fantastic base to explore Cusco and beyond!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

We based ourselves here for about a week in total, using it to explore Cusco, and as a base before and after the Inca trail & visit to the Jungle. The hotel has a storage facility for luggage and our bags were brought to our rooms in time for each new check-in. We found the staff very obliging at all times, the breakfasts were great and the bedrooms were spacious and clean. The location is on a lovely street, close to: Plaza de Armas, a lovely bakery (off San Blas square) and the starting steps up to Saksaywaman. Would highly recommend!

Our room was on the first floor of a beautiful courtyard filled with flowers, stone benches and a tranquil fountain. We thoroughly enjoyed retreating here after our busy days in Cusco. They upgraded our room to a king size bed, which was an unexpected bonus. The breakfast was hearty and plentiful every day and the grounds were immaculate. The staff was also incredibly helpful and even assisted us in arranging a slight modification in our two week journey in Peru, which put our mind at ease. We were sad to leave!

The room we stayed at a Rumi Punku was very nice, but I got comparable rooms for much less at other hotels. Overall, I have no complaints about the hotel or the staff, just the high price I had to pay for both.

We stayed six nights in Rumi Punku (five nights before our Inka Trail experience and one after) and it was a great experience ! The hotel is very well located : close to the Plaza de Armas but in a quiet street outside the big "tourist area". It is an oasis of rest, a very beautiful old mansion in authentic Peruvian style with patios and fountains, beautifully furnished with lots of good taste. The rooms are quiet, big, well arranged with all the necessary comfort, very good beds, heating and a fantastic hot shower...! The staff is very kind and helpful, and they offer great and interesting excursions in the region. And last but not least: breakfast is marvelous !!! Don't hesitate : book now !

The hotel is so charming with it's courtyards and fountains--I wouldn't stay anywhere else! King beds were comfortable, view of the courtyards, clean and comfortable bathrooms. Attentive service. We stayed one night before leaving for Aguas Calientes for two nights. They held our luggage and told us we could wait and pay our bill when we got back.

We decided to stay in this hotel because of its location and great review and we were not disappointed. Located between the historical center and San Blas, this hotel was very well maintained. Each morning started with a great breakfast which gave us lot of energy. The rooms were very clean and quiet. In our room we had a small fridge and a heater. We stayed 4 nights and then went to the Inca Trail. They kept our luggages which was very useful. The neighborhood was very safe. Karina help us to organized several tours and we were very satisfied. Plenty of restaurants around and small markets. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to discover Cusco.

After a log trek to Machu Picchu, my friend and I found utter awe staying at Rumi Punku. The jacuzzi and sauna are private and cleaned before each use. The floors in the bathrooms are heated and the architecture is beautiful. It's a bit more than other hostels but if you're an in between type, stay here. You won't regret it.
