Owner description: The ruin complex of this military fortress is a superb example of Inca architectural skills since it was made of enormous carved limestone boulders (some weighing more than 300 tons each) that were fit together perfectly without the use of mortar.

“Amazing huge stones.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

It is a site one should not miss if visits Cusco. The stone mason of Inca is stunning. Inca has too many wonderful things got buried or lost.

“Impressive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

Definitely worth a visit. We caught a taxi up and then walked back. I agree with other reviews that without a map of the sit or guide you could miss parts of the site. The large stones were very impressive and I also liked the view of Cusco from the lookout.

“City Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

We visited Sacsayhuaman as part of the city tour. It was a nice way to spend some time as we weere getting acclimated to the altitude. It is a very large fortress, and you are not given sufficient time on the city tours to truly explore it.

“Definitely worth it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

This ranks second to Machu Picchu but still should not be missed. A very tranquil and peaceful spot with delightful breezes.....you find yourself wondering how on earth they moved those huge stones without modern machinery.....

“Worth the hike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

We hiked up here from Cuzco and it was totally worth it. Very peaceful and spectacular views of the entire city and valley.
