It is a rare treat to be able to stay in a 500 year old building, impeccably kept and astonishingly atmospheric. The feeling of this hotel matches the pictures. It is serene and it exudes the patina of time and care. There is art and beauty everywhere. The public areas of the hotel are splendid. I could sit in the courtyard and listen to the water fountain for hours. There is a very impressive church in the Barroco Cusquenho style within the grounds. At the end of the day, in the tradition of the Orient-Express Hotels, the rooms are just right. We stayed in rooms with oxygen and had a restorative and immaculate sleep. Great value.
