To give you an idea of what a "setting" this hotel is, when we arrived, professionals were filming a telenovela in the lobby. You step into the lobby and feel as though you have been transported to another land and time, perhaps not even Peru, but maybe Spain. The hotel seems to be wrapped around two enormous courtyards, with the reception, restaurant(s) and a chapel (yes!) off of one, and the rooms mostly off of another. We had ample rooms which shared a door. We ate the included breakfast, which is a large spread, and had a quick lunch in the bar as well; both meals were interesting and satisfying. Everything was very high quality, though the bathrooms were typical of a luxury hotel and not as in keeping with the character of the rest of the monastery. Really, a beautiful property with a friendly staff.
