I've lived in Peru for almost 6 months and the coffee I have tried has been fair to really really bad. Most places mix instant coffee with cold tap water that you then later mix with hot water "weird and not too tasty". However, "gracias a la Pachamama" I found Triskel, a super comfy coffee shop and art gallery very close to the Plaza de Armas in Cusco that has a superior blend that rivals the best coffees from around the globe. Not only is the coffee reasonably priced (Americano S/.4 and a Cappuccino is only S/.6), but it is 100% organic from Quillabamba, and tastes amazing. Store owner and artist, Martha Morales, spent some serious money on a Pavoni espresso maker so she could offer a world class brew. The coffees shop also has excellent tea and the walls are covered in art from emerging artists and the store owner herself who specializes in modern digital photography. So, instead of getting ripped of at Starbucks, walk on over to Triskel and get your morning cup, a slice of home made mind blowing quiche and dose of FREE WIFI.
